E: The uselessness of the grenade launcher finally has a purpose. Use it on Team Defender and just paint enemies with the explosive damage, took me one game to get 60 paints and the Recon III challenge. Woo.

I kinda miss the noob tube.. lol. I know they were ridiculous and abused beyond beleif in mw2, but blops made it where it was usefull and non-abusive.

Also, anyone else having fun annoying people with that recon drone? That thing is alot of fun to fly around with.

noob tubes are still useful in hardcore since basically a pin prick will kill u in that mode hehe.

ok i'm an idiot. can someone tell me how to use the stinger or javelin or which is better?

What are you trying to do it for? Stinger is AA only, and comes with two rockets. The Javelin is a location lock (or vehicle) and comes with one rocket.

Javelin can shoot at air support or anywhere on the ground, with a really long delay. Only one rocket.

Stinger can shoot air support only, but you get two rockets, and locks on much faster.

So which is better depends on what you're trying to do with it.

i'm just trying to shoot air support out of the sky with the stinger. i pulled up the site but couldn't get a lock-on. does it just take a really long time or maybe i'm supposed to press a button that i wasn't pressing?

You have to use the "aim down sight" trigger first to initiate the lock-on. You will hear 2 beeps followed by a continuous ringing beep indicating it's locked-on. Then you hit the fire button.

However, i've noticed on some rare occasions, my lock-on won't work for whatever reason, and to remedy it, i just move to another location and try again.

Been using the Striker a lot ever since reading on here about how OP it can be with the right add-ons.

I'm still waiting to get extended mags which will really make the setup strong.

Right now I'm using:

Striker + Range + RDS
Extreme Cond. Pro
Assassin Pro
Steady Aim Pro
Specialist Package

I'm not really dominating too much but it's definitely a fun class. Makes me learn to not run down long open stretches since even with range, I'll get gunned down pretty fast.

Can't wait for extended mags though as I'll get many more OHKs that way.

is there any visual indication that i'm locked on?

Nope.

Just put the aircraft roughly in the sites, doesn't have to be directly in the middle, can be off a little.

Once you start hearing the first beep, keep tracking the aircraft and once it does the ringing beep, hit the fire button.

awesome, thanks guys.

my next question: how can i kill someone who is using a riot shield?

In order of effectiveness:

Stick a Semtex to their shield.
Run at them and knife them in their side/back.
Shoot their feet.

A flash or stun can help you accomplish any of these.

Never let your guard down near a riot shielder - then can whip out a pistol or throwing knife way faster than youd probably expect.

What's the eagle with the + next to it mean? Kept seeing that a lot last night.

Also I see what looks like flares being tossed on the ground from people sometimes but I can't figure out what they're doing or why? Just looks like a flare burning on the ground.

And man is it a difference going from level 80 Monday night to starting at level 1 last night and playing.

It sucks! Really have to fight much harder to get top ranked and keep a positive K ratio.

Shoot the feet or run to the side of him and knife him. Sticky grenades works very well as well.

thanks!

my last question (for now) : what is the difference between the holographic site and the red dot site?

The flares are tactical insertions. You drop one down, and when you die, you will respawn there. Red flares = enemies insertions, green = friendly.

Ironically, it seems like you can destroy (in hardcore mode at least) friendly insertions and they count towards your sitrep challenges of destroying enemy equipment.

In the game, nothing really other than aesthetics as far as I can tell. In real life however, I think the holographic scope helps with aiming due to the fact that the red dot has depth/3D look to it. So it helps with keeping on target even if your eye is not completely centered looking through the scope....or something like that.

I love finding Tac inserts. So many easy kills and they dont seem to catch on right away. All time favorite tac kills are the ol claymore just in front of them so they can put the new tac insert down and than die. Oh the lulz I get from that.

Technically aesthetic, but the RDS is functionally better. The holo has a thicker frame which obscures targets. It also has glare at times. There is basically no reason you'd ever want to use a holo. Some people liked the actual dot from the holo, but now that you can customize the RDS, it's basically useless. Still better than irons, but there's no situation where you'd have the holo but not the RDS.

Agreed.

I only use Holo to complete challenges.

What do you mean eagle with the + next to it? Where do you see this? In the lobby? During the game?

During the game. Maybe eagle isn't the best way to say it, it's like a vulture or something. It's blue and pops up on the screen for a moment with a plus + next to it. No clue what it means.

I guess it's a resupply?

http://images.wikia.com/callofduty/images/2/25/199.png

That's what it looks like but with a plus to the right of it.

Maybe it's cause I wasn't using a class at the time since I just did my prestige and the pre-setup class maybe had scavenger set?

Come to think of it, at times it seemed like there were what looked to be maybe backpacks laying on the ground where I killed someone, is that how it works with the scavenger perk?
