After playing it myself I'm pretty sure this is going to be the least divisive CoD among fans. The balance is just right...MW1 style weapons, balanced perks, great maps, lots of new toys. The kill confirmed game mode is just plain brilliant in it's simplicity - think TDM with no camping.

And spec ops survival might possibly be even more fun than MP. Blows zombies away.

Haters will be haters, but CoD fans are going to love this one.

Oh I don't know about kill comfirmed. It looks like a master baiter's dream come true.. haha.

Looking forward to that survival mode, if it's 75% as good as zombies... I will be very happy. Zombies is awesome. Have you done any of the Easteregg puzzles/missions for Moon and Shangri La? Me and buddies, have been doing the moon one for the past week, and finally got it done last night. It was Epic. We got all the perks, and stayed up till like 1:30am. We had to force ourselves to die. Also, that Moon one, with the way the anti-gravity physics work and everything is just amazing.

Would be awesome if spec ops had secret puzzles that let the team go on an AC-130, 1 person pilots, while the others use the guns or something.. haha.

I never got into zombies. Always found the beginning boring, the midgame just fighting off waves of drones, and I could never understand wtf all that tonic and pack a punch stuff was.

Spec ops survival is very different - each round throws something new at you...one round might be c4 dogs, the next choppers, the next juggernauts, chemical troops, etc. It keeps it mixed up and gets exciting quick. You can call in all sorts of support from turrets and airstrikes to squads of AI troops. 2p only, but it makes sense why it's that way when you play it.

The spec ops missions are coming back as well in addition to survival mode. They just have to do the one man in the sky, one man on the ground thing again.

yah, I used to play those spec ops missions with my daughter. she would use the ac130 or choppergunner, and I'd run around. Lots of fun.

Oh man, spec ops is still 2p only?? Ahh, that's gonna kill it. . I hope I'm wrong, but it does look exciting. It looks like you earn money from kills to buy those support units and such.

As for Zombies, I used to think the same thing? If I wanted to play zombies, why not fire up left for dead? Then, I played with a few friends that knew what was going on, and had a blast. Then, Call of the Dead with John Romero running around came out, then Shangri La and the awesome easteregg puzzle, and Moon with the whole gravity thing and space suit. Also alot of hacking involved in the Moon one. If you play by yourself or play with people that don't understand the scope of the game, it's no fun.

Yea... the more I read about it the more excited I get. Sure it isn't a new engine or anything, but we probably won't get that till next gen. This will probably be the BEST FPS available. Period. Ever. So why wouldn't I like it? It's going to be an upgrade over BLOPS or MW2, so I mine as well enjoy it.

Im definitely glad they didn't sacrifice the frame rate and playability. Sure, it could look better, but when I'm playing the game, eye candy is the last thing on my mind. When I'm playing a 30fps game though, I'm always wishing it was 60.

Maybe, just maybe, next gen everyone will get with the program and lock at 60.

Wow, no one has mentioned anything in this thread for over a month. I guess I will fire it back up. Saw the new campaign trailer. Looks like some crazy over the top stuff will be happening. I wonder how long it will be.

That trailer looks nice. Looks like it will be very entertaining.

Probably 10 hours at most. These days, single player campaigns are so short.

I'm hoping it'll be 15+ hours, but I'm not holding my breath. Besides, MP is where it's at.

Nah, I really want it to be short n sweet so I can jump right into MP. 6-8 hours at max. A 6 hour thrill ride is good enough for me.

I'd "like" a longer campaign but I agree with RAMM, MP is where I'll spent 99% of my time regardless.

Seriously, the hate for this game is of epic proportions. People are rating this thread one star? Really? Are you that petty? If you don't like the game then move along, no harm done there.

For real though. I mean, there's plenty to play this year. Rage, Dark Souls, BF3, Skyrim, etc... it's not like gaming developement has stopped b/c of COD. There's a very large group of casual players that love this game, hence the success. Leave it be. The hardcore games have not gone away.

I honestly don't think I could take a CoD campaign more than 6 hours. I know it's just a shooter like all other shooters, but there's just something about the CoD campaigns to me that's such an assault to the senses. It's fine in doses, but I'm usually tired of it by the end.

Well the pacing is just non stop. The only real break is in the load screens. Other than that, you're stalking, chasing, being chased, everything is exploding etc etc. There no point where characters are just waltzing around yammering to each other doing story exposition.

MW1 was pretty self serious, modeling off movies like black hawk down. MW2 was way wackier, influenced far more by over the top movies like red dawn and the rock. Kinda enjoyed the second one a bit more since it was just so varied and intense from start to finish. I wonder what kind of tone they're going for with this one....they're definitely flying around the world again, but it all looks decidedly urban for the most part.

If you look closely enough at the recent trailer, it kind of gives away what is surely going to be one of the most ridiculously awesome video game scenes ever conceived. Its sort of a spoiler but you have to kind of piece together what happens so be warned. Cannot wait to see how that plays out...

You can subscribe to Elite regardless of which game version you purchase.

This, but you get a free year with the Hardened edition which will include all maps, etc. Just hope there's no screw up in using the code from Hardened edition and setting my founder status.

How is it that the Hardened editions are all sold out? The same thing happened with Forza 4 Limited edition.

Yes, my stupid ass cancelled my Amazon pre-order because I wanted to re-order with my $20 Amazon credit from BF3. Well, my stupid ass didn't check to ensure I still COULD pre-order. Argh.

It's not the end of the world to get the regular edition and sign up for Elite whenever I'm ready. I'm more just irritated at myself for not checking and at them for now making enough damn copies! :/

What exactly is Elite? I signed up for the beta and didn't do anything with it.

If you don't really care about the collectibles in the Xbox 360 Hardened Edition, but do want a good deal on the Elite subscription, buy the game at Kmart. You can get the game plus 4000 MS points for $59.99 + $29.99 = $89.98. Plus you'll get $15 gaming credit for you next purchase (valid Nov 13-23). Use the 4000 MS points to buy a Elite Subscription, and you'll still get the Founder status as if you bought a Hardened Edition or a Elite Scription card. That's a pretty sweet deal right there. Plus buying Uncharted 3 or Lord of the Rings: War in the North from Kmart this week will net you a $20 coupon which would make MW3 $20 cheaper. Best deal if you're looking to pay cash/cc but can't find a Hardened Edition
