eh, as much as i love MK games (non-3d games) the MK following is no where NEAR as large as the street fighter following. this game will be pretty big imo, but not nearly as big as sf4 was when it came out. but i do love that sf4 brought the boom back to the fighting game genre.

Tried the demo last night. I've never really been into Mortal Kombat, or any fighting games for that matter, but this seems pretty awesome. It is quite brutal and the fatalities and x-ray moves are impressive.

This may not be new a feature but I like that the character models deteriorate as the fight goes on. For instance when I was playing as Scorpion against Milena, by the end of the round Milena's head was a bloody mess with her gross monster mouth exposed (which I proceeded to sever from her body and then cut in half as I performed a fatality). Also, the bottom half of Scorpion's bare skull was exposed, as were patches of raw muscle on his chest.

yea that model deterioration is something new this version that they were touting as a cool feature. i think it seems really cool as well. i'm hoping the xray moves don't get old quick, they look to slow down the pace of the fight big time.

Xray isn't as bad as everyone thinks. I cut my girlfriend in half, then cut her head off and it went flying into the air, then when it came back down I cut it in half. Pretty cool. We're definitely getting this game. My wife loves MK.

yea PS3 has Kratos in it, he explained a little bit about that in the video saying Kratos has the most weapons than any character. it did seem kind of weird how PS3 was getting a special character but 360 wasn't, which brought up the question.

i just got the feeling that from the answer Boon gives to the question that there is definitely a 360 exclusive character just that he hasn't been announed yet. not sure who they can put on there that will be a 360 franchise character and fit the MK world. Kratos fits perfectly into the MK world.

I remember in Soul Calibur when all the consoles got exclusive characters ... Nintendo got Link (fit the best), Sony got Hei Hachi (didn't fit the world that much but was a 3d fighting character), and MS got Spawn ... that just didn't fit IMO.

i'm thinking this may be the issue with the 360 exclusive this time around as well. only characters I could think of is Marcus Fenix with his chainsaw, but I don't know cause his model would be too large for MK world imo. possibly the guy from crackdown maybe? but i don't know if crackdown creators would like that. i really have no idea.

oh yea totally forgot about yoda and vader ... but yea those made no sense either lol. or how about the halo marine in dead or alive 4? (wasnt master chief, was some female marine)

i too think of pretty much halo and gears of war. nothing much else comes to mind when thinking about 360.

and with halo i don't really see bungie wanting the halo name in such a brutal game as mk, although halo is violent in itself. kratos fits perfect because he comes from a game that you could argue is even more brutal and violent than mortal kombat heh.

^_^ She later froze my legs to the ground and removed my torso from my ice block legs. heheh She then held it up to show me how bad she ruined me. Good times, good times.

Just played a little MK vs. DC last night and the really good thing about it is the easiness of gameplay (played scorpion mostly and all those back down moves were pretty easy). I have a feeling this new MK will be a big improvement.

Yeah sure it will be.

I like the goofiness of MK vs. DC. Some of the moves are pretty funny. I could complain about T rating but I think the humor and fun of it makes up for the lack of extreme gore.

I played the demo wednesday night, and im very impressed. It just reminds me when part 2 came out, me and a buddy bought it and stayed up all night doing all the fatalities with the poster that it came with.
