yes, htl is running at 888.31. system is totally stable.

Like is said, I can boot into windows at 300fsb, everything looks stable, put superpi will fail.

I wonder if 220fsb is stubling block for everyone? I too could not post stable at 220, So for the heck of it I jumped right to 250 up to 296 with no problems.

billwinkle,

You run stable above 220MHz HTT at boot.

What is median talking then?

It seems alot of people are stuck at 220. I was too, but took the chance and ran this sucker right to 250, and kept going and tweaking until my current specs.

I say the heck with it. try 250 with 4htt and see what happens. If you can try higher just remember to lower htt to 3.

Quick & easy question, I didn't see the manual mention onboard video anywhere, but I may have just missed it. Anyone know if the SLI version has onboard video?

Anybody else having this problem with their non-SLI board? Mine randomly reboots within 5 minutes of shutting it down. Is anyone aware of a fix to this problem, or is an RMA necessary? (Please note, I'm a complete n00b at troubleshooting new motherboards, so I don't know if something else in my system could be causing this problem.)

Ok if the system repowers up after you've shut it down then you need to enter the bios and disable the wake on events that wake the system up like the lan and so forth. I wasn't talking about that rather my system would just reboot itself while you right in the middle of doing something without any warning.

If you read the earlier posts in this thread, you'll see that the problem is most likely because of the bad ethernet card driver that is installed. I think the file that is causing it to crash is like... nvtcp.sys or something like that. The reason why it looks like your computer reboots itself is because it blue screened and the default setting on Windows XP is to restart the computer. Because your computer is too fast, the blue screen will only be up for a second before the computer decides to restart. nVidia just came out with the latest nForce 4 standalone drivers. Install that and make sure you have the latest ethernet driver and you should be fine.

Thanks for the advice Puffnstuff and taelee1977, I appreciate it. I'll try that out tonight and see if it doesn't fix my problem.

Yes, I have major problems. Fresh install of XP SP2 on a new Neo4 Platinum Nforce 4 (no SLI). I download the latest standalone kit drivers from the Nvidia site and after going through the setup procedure I'm left with problems. The audio drivers just didn't work, according to my system I have no audio hardware. Secondly the Ethernet Controller won't installed, neither with the RAID controller. I have 3 "!" in device manager.

NVMixer will install but when I try to open it it will give me an error saying I have no Nforce audio hardware installed. I've tried to install all the drivers manually too by pointing out the folders containing them and it just doesn't work.

What a mess. :/

I purchased the MSI k8n neo4 platinum SLI version, and have been scouring the net noticing a consistant problem some people are having with the initial boot- The Keyboard/mouse not responding upon booting, and are stuck in the "Post"/"Bios" choice splash screen, with not being able to select either option due to the keyboard responding.

Many reports claim its a bad ps2 connection with the board - well Im here to tell you differently. Through my weeks of study and heartache with this board, Ive come to the conclusion that the board simply does NOT like to be booted with ANY USB devices connected to it... As stupid as this may sound, since Ive disconnected my usb devices upon reboots/boots, and completely switched to ps2 mouse/keyboard, this mobos been running like a champ. Actually, both my mouse and keyboard are USB, but I utilize usb-ps2 connectors for both.

I realize this is not a rocket-science solution for anyone who may be having this problem, but I felt it was worthy to share this information. I should also mention that the USB devices work fine upon plugging them back in AFTER booting.

Hope this helps someone...

VicodiN: If this is true, could AT do a test on this, and if possible - PRESSURE - MSI to fix this immediately, its unacceptable.

in my gigabyte 7n400(nforce 2 chipset)the ddr is enabled when i put the 2 sticcks in in the slots that have the same colour, and i think should be the same(green+green or purple +purple).it says this in the manual
and about the usb devices that don't work is just a problem of drivers.blame nvidia

I have a different optical usb mouse (cheap logitech) that boots up fine when plugged in. Booting also works fine with my usb printer and usb ipod plugged in.

It's a shame cause I really like the IBM mouse.

I'm just got MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum and it seems to be running great.

The only problem I have is with my SATA HDD (Hitachi 160 GB). When I power up, it starts to make periodic noises (beeps) for a minute or two as if trying to read but the bios does not seem to detect it.

I'm not sure whether I should set it up as RAID since it's only one hard drive.

The HDD is on SATA1 port and I have a CD/DVD drive on primary master ide.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks

Just got back from a long weekend... turned on my computer... and it kept restarting and blue screening after reaching the Windows XP screen. This thing is really pissing me off. Brand new computer... doesn't work like it's supposed to. I thought everything was finally figured out, but there are problems again. Stability is really a big issue with this MB. The driver set on it needs A LOT of work. I just installed the new nForce 4 standalone drivers and the new nVidia Forceware driver a few days ago. Everything seemed to be working fine, but when I turned on my computer today I found that I need to boot in safemode and for whatever reason it started working again after I reinstalled the drivers a few times. When it finally started, I could access websites, but when I tried scrolling down the screen, my CPU Utilization shot up to 100% and the screen slows to a craw. Anyone else have this problem? I somehow got it to work after much fidddling, but I'm not sure how I got it to work. I'm thinking it was the new graphics card driver, but I can't say for sure since I installed both of the new drivers at once.

taelee: I have similar problem, always blue screen after the XP logo but I have a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra board. I don't know, maybe something with the NF4 chipset? I was considering exchanging for this MSI board hoping to solve my problems.
