OMG I found the overclocking problem with venice cpus! Some cpus can't go over 240FSB, and the culprit is the bios revisions.
you need bios version 1.6 for venice cpus to overclock properly
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/bios/bos/spt_bos_detail.php?UID=637&kind=1
anything over that may not work, as I have tested 1.9 and it definitely doesn't
1.3 is also said to work, but you may have problems with it as it is older.
when you falsh, use the EXACT parameter (only if you use NEO4 platinum):
AWFL859G w7125nms.160 /py/sn/wb/cc/cd/cp/f/r
for example, if my bios flash program and the bios file are in D:\temp
1. boot up with a bootdisk (you can just burn one if you have nero)
2. when a:> is loaded, type D:
3. now it will turn to d:>
4. type cd\temp
5. turns to d:\temp>
6. type in exactly: "AWFL859G w7125nms.160 /py/sn/wb/cc/cd/cp/f/r" (2 spaces between the three parameter sections, without the quotes.)
7. the bios flash program should automatically begin. DO NOT TOUCH THE MOUSE NOR THE KEYBOARD, AND DO NOT TURN OFF THE POWER!!!! OTHERWISE THE BIOS FLASH WILL FAIL AND YOU WILL END UP WITH A DEAD MOTHERBOARD REQUIRING RMA!!!
so if you have the overclocking barrier of 240FSB with venice cpus, give this a shot. worked for me
