I still maintain that NJ had their chance during their series and btw, Spurs are a good team NOT a great team.

Not especially a Spurs fan even though I've attended 5 of their games in SA since 1998. Congrats to San Antonio and their fans.

Gonna miss the Admiral as he is one class act. Good series New Jersey. Thought you might pull an upset.

Spurs are a great team. 2 Championships in 5 years.

They defeated the 3 time defending champions.
They defeated the #1 scoring team in the NBA.
They defeate the best the East has to offer.

Tim Duncan set the all time mark for average blocks per game (5.3) and the previous record was 4.9

Timmy Boy also had only the 26th Triple Double in Finals history and the first in 13 years since Sir Charles.

What I call choke is going 3-21 (Mr. Martin) and Kidd's overall performance throughout the whole Finals. Also Richard Jefferson must have stayed home the whole series. The search party is still looking for him Also the inability for the Nets to basically hold any sort of lead through the whole finals. Realize their both of their 2 wins were by 1 point on nights the Spurs didn't play particular well as a team. But when It counts the most, the spurs pulled through and won it.

Yeah he did, but he's 21. The fact that he was able to hold Jason Kidd to a really low FG% and score on him at will in some games gives you good reason to think he's a keeper. Not that he's better than Kidd is right now, cause obviously he's not, but the potential is there and at 21 yrs old = sky's the limit. Kidd isn't going to be as good as he is much longer, age sets in soon

he's not supposed to be pretty, but gets the job done...thats what I thought, but he played like one of the best centers of all time, imo.

The Spurs have a use for Kidd but he's not a huge priority for them. Parker will mature and develop into a great player

I would not go after Kidd if I was the Spurs. Parker is going to be a solid PG. They need to work on replacing Robinson first. I think the Lakers need Kidd more than anyone, because Derek Fisher is a better backup than starter imo. The Kings have Bibby and Dallas has Nash. The Lakers to come up with someone who can match those guys in the playoffs, and Kidd would be a perfect fit. He isn't the flashy scorer, but he can make Kobe and Shaq reaaaallly good.

Honestly can the Lakers afford Kidd? Because they've had other opportunities to get decent players and they continue to keep (and lose) what little backup and starters they have. Either it's REALLY poor management or they are close to the cap limit and don't want to get taxed. You'd think that LA would have a pretty big bankroll and not worry about the taxation and bring in some big gun to help. We'll see what happens.

I say stay with Parker because he's young, got potential, and he already has chemistry with the team. Oh well, all the free agents should make the off-season interesting anyway.

Spurs should put their money in a big name to replace robinson. They dont NEED a kidd, that should be obvious by now, so why pay top dollar to make your team worse...ie, if they don't get a stud to replace robinson because of kidds contract.

lets face it tho, kidd would love to be a spur or a laker.

Charles Barkley, of the TNT crew, said the Mavs were going fishing before their game with SA. The Mavs went on to win the game without Dirk Nowitzki and pretty much all of the Dallas media called Barkley a blowhard. Whenever a team is eliminated, they are said to be gone fishing (or playing golf).

If the Spurs did go after Kidd, they wouldn't let parker go. Truthfully, I think Parker and Clxton are keepers. I would also resign Willis, Jackson, and Kerr. Spurs will go after hopefully Jermaine O'Neal and grab another quality free agent as well. This could be the beginning of something special for the Spurs if they play their cards right this summer.

P.S. How do you think Byron Scott feels knowing that it was Stephen Jackson that was putting the dagger in them tonight?

I don't know if they can afford him. Shaq and Kobe probably eat up the payroll. They could maybe do a sign and trade or restructure some contracts to make it work. Dunno, but I think Kidd would fit best in LA. Actually putting him in Minnesota would make them a better team too, but I don't think it's gonna happen for them.

Honestly I think Kidd would work good in Minnesota. If he could feed KG and Wally I think they'd be better. KG has to basically carry the team right now and It just doesn't work. It'd be a fun team to watch but I highly doubt Kidd would get anywhere near MN.
