I think the Sports Guy summed it up the best when he said how the Heat rely on the refs more than any other team in the NBA. Tonight the refs were with them at the end.

Depending on free throws is not a bad thing. All it means is that the team is driving to the basket more and is playing aggressively. As opposed to guys standing around shooting bricks.

Just read on ESPN that Josh Howard did the same thing in 2002 when he was with Wake Forest: calling a timeout when they had none left. Needless to say; it ended them costing the game against Maryland.

Stop crying MAVS!!

Wade was fouled in OT, but not by Dirk

Hey Iamme, would grabbing someone on the arm be considered a mugging? Or would you only call a foul if Wade got smacked in the head wound up on the floor with a bloody face?

hahahahhaha Josh Howard and Avery, fricking jokes at the end. D.Wade made Dallas his little B again!!

1 game from being $5 richer.

Avery definitely has definitely lost it. He went crazy on some poor reporter. It was so lame.

GO HEAT!

It is true though...Dallas has officially become DWades biatch.

Wow, it's been awhile since I posted in this thread. It has mushroomed

Dallas is choking plain and simple. In game 3 they should have blown out Miami and been done with it. Wade is a good player, but teams don't lose to single players (with the possbile exception of Jordan, but that's a stretch cause he had Pippen). Dallas plain and simple, after a season of playing tough ball and being mentally stronger than their opponent, has become Miami's red-headed bastard stepchild. I still think Dallas is hands down more talented, but right now Miami is going to mug the championship away from them. Dirk has been a huge disappointment in the last 2 games and a lot of this goes on his shoulders.

All that said, I'm glad it's back in Dallas and maybe the team will play like games 1 and 2. And last night, which was a pretty good showing too.

edit: The shame in Miami winning would be that they are not the best team in the NBA, even with their inspired play as of late. But that is one of the caveats of a playoff system, the team that gets hot at the end wins, but is not neccessarily the most talented or best in the league. But if they win it, I will give them their props.

I did say Mavs in 5 before, but after watching the stellar performance of the Heat (Dwayne Wade) at home, I think the Mavs in 7 or if they get lucky the Heat in 7

The Heat are better at home than on the road, so probably that's what he means. The home team is undefeated in this series, but I dunno if that will hold true in Dallas the next 2 games.

What? are you people watching the same stuff I am? Not only was wade fouled by dirk due to a hand in the back, but he was fouled by the other guy even more obviously. They showed the replay twice and it was absolutely obvious that he was fouled at least once on the shot.

As for howard, I don't know enough about hand signals, but I found it really odd that avery johnson was making TO hand signals repeatedly. My guess is that when players see that they generally call a time out. Howard should have known not to do it even though he saw it, but at least half the blame surely goes to avery.

Don't blame dirk. Without dirk dallas would have lost in regulation. The guy made several clutch shots when it counted.

The heat got more foul calls because they didn't stand around the perimeter taking jump shots the whole game.

As for the suspension, it was totally justified because it is VERY dangerous to hit someone hard while they are in the air. If shaq hadn't been in the air there would be no suspsension. There have been numerous players severely hurt in that situation. Derek Anderson was taken out of the playoffs by juwon howard on a similar foul.

With Stack back for Game 6 and with Dirk's subpar night for Game 5, I think that will energize the Mavs to a Win in Game 6 on Tuesday. Game 7 though, it's a flip of the coin. Mavs would have the momentum and home crowd, but if you learned anything from these playoffs, nothing is ever guaranteed (or guaransheed for you Piston fans).

If Wade takes over either of these games, it's over b/c then he can just dish to Shaq (best choice) or the open man. Can Dallas double Wade and Shaq at the same time? Nope. And we both know that nobody on Dallas can guard Wade or Shaq 1 on 1, aside from Daniels who Avery won't use (AGAIN) in crunch time on Wade. lol.

If wade could pass like lebron, the guy would be totally sick. I wonder if he will work on that during the off-season.

Yeah he did hit some nice shots, but where was he the rest of the game? And what about his 2-14 shooting night the game before? He is the superstar of this team, and therefore will get the lion's share of the blame if they lose out. Just like he was treated as a god when he scored 50 on the Spurs. It comes with the territory.

Tru dat. Add in they were on the home floor, which also gives a boost to fouls called for.

Err.. Daniels isn't that great defensively. Wade can pretty much abuse anybody anytime he wants.

I'll throw a scenario to you, as food for thought. What if both Wade and Dirk go off together and score in the 40's, who would win? The last time it happened with Tmac and Dirk, Dallas won.

LOL, you're comparing T-Mac/Houston to Wade/Miami.

Just shut up already.

No I was comparing 2 superstars both scoring a bunch and what is the result. With a healthy Yao and Tmac, I would take Houston over Miami anyways. It's just injuries really shunted Hosuton this season.

That's pretty funny....Yao and Tmac over Wade/Shaq...funny stuff. I'm not predicting who's going to win...I stopped doing that a while ago and it has worked well for my beloved Heat BUT...facts are facts....the Mavs have absolutely positively NO answer for Wade....he is pretty much taking Dallas to school...if this trend continues (which would be more difficult back in Dallas) the Heat will win this series. The first 2 games Wade struggled in Dallas...but if you remember correctly...he was still sick. His first game back at 100% was game 3..happenned to be back in Miami..but you know what happened...he lit up Mavs.

LETS GO HEAT! LETS GO HEAT! LETS GO HEAT!

Well, dirk has definitely not played great basketball, but I don't think you can blame him for last night's loss anyway. Any more than you could have blamed shaq for game 2.

you can't blame any one player for a team loss. The Mavs and Heat win as a team and lose as a team.
