I'm taking the Mavs in 5. Why you ask?
I have been a GSWarriors fan for 20+ years. One of the most frustrating guys I have ever watched is E Dampier. The guy just wouldn't work hard with 2 notable exceptions. When his contract year came up, and whenever he played Shaq. As terrible as the Warriors have been, they have always held their own against the Lakers when Damp played vs. Shaq. And he usually did a great job on D with no help. He'd man up against Shaq and usually hold him to around 18 and 8. This is when Shaq was in his prime too. And he would rarely foul out.
As things are now, Damp is still in his prime and Shaq is hurting and has lost some mobility. I fully expect Damp to keep Shaq's contribution to a minimum with out any help and as a result the rest of the Heat will not get a lot of open looks like they are used to. Wade will still get his, and Shaq will still do ok, but I think this will be a fairly lopsided finals.
uhh...Shaq schooled the Defensive Player of the Year....game 6 stats were something like 28pts, 16rbs and 5 blocks!...Did you see him run down the length of the court on a fast break and lay it in after he blocked the shot...did you see that play? I don't worry about Shaq...I worry about Williams, Payton, Walker....I think they are the key to if Miami wins or loses.
uhh...Damp matches up better against Shaq than Wallace does. He's bigger, stronger and longer, just slower. I know what I said sounds crazy, but I watched it happen for 5 years. Damp always played Shaq well, and without the need for a double team. I'm surprised Avery has said Damp won't be starting, since he was on the Warriors a couple of those years. I guess he wants Diop's offense to start the game.
