USC isn't in the SEC... Mean SC?

Pretty sure everyone here could figure out that meant SCar.

Clemson isn't as good as their record indicates. Almost a 2014 FSU of sorts. But maybe the B1G isn't as great as advertised either? We shall see tomorrow.

I was simply asking. USC is not SC, I'm sure he appreciates you being his white knight though.

USC (University of South Carolina) as in Gamecocks and not Trojans. Several SEC schools went to bowl games with .500 record (6-6) and it shown in the results.

Not trying to be a white knight. We are all apparently fans of the game here though. There is nothing Southeastern about USC.

Lots of "fans" get things mixed up. Wrong conference, part of the conference etc. Bama played USC the first game. It's not unfathomable that a casual fan could have gotten it mixed up. Nobody ever calls SC, USC unless they aren't real football fans. Case in point above me.

In any event, looking forward to see Jackson play, too bad LSU's best player isn't playing.

Fair enough. I think the UNC coach at one point said something to the effect that, Carolina meant UNC, and that USC meant, well USC.

How about them LSU Tigers. With the exceptions of the horrible 1st FG kick and the INT before the first half, LSU played very well. The defense was outstanding, even against the Heisman winner and one of the best offense in the nation (over 40 points per game). The last time Cardinals scored in low figure was 10 points when they lost to Houston.

End of 3rd QT, Tigers 26, Cardinals 6.

Update: LSU won 29-9, should be 32-6 because LSU kicker missed an easy FG and Cardinals scored a FG because of a dumb INT from LSU QB right before half time.

No TD allowed. Good job, LSU defense.

Yea, Louisville seemed to have spent the entire off-season prepping for FSU. After that game they have been nothing but overrated. I'm surprised Lamar Jackson won the Heisman honestly. Glad I switched my pick from Louisville to LSU .

I see it was unanimous on Alabama. I did think about switching last minute but did not. I would love it if Washington wins though.

That was barely running into the kicker. The guy slid and the kicker landed on him. Lame penalty, but fortunately it's not going to change the game.

I was driving through SC at some point (an unfortunate event that I sometimes must endure), and stopped for lunch at some sports bar...wherever. THe locals kept talking up Carolina. I eventually realized that they were talking about South Carolina. obviously, this is wrong, because there is only one Carolina: those bastard shitstain tarholes at UNC.

But, to the locals in SC, apparently Carolina is SC. This instantly makes me hate SC by association. Nothing that anyone calls "Caronlina" can be good. I actually have family that live in the area, and some of them actually went to SC. Some of them are Carolina fans and some are "Carolina" fans. It's weird, but they understand each other somehow...as you might expect "Carolina" fans to understand themselves.

And yes, I've heard them refer to SC as USC--they even have hats.

Good thing Michigan and Penn State didn't get into the playoffs, otherwise the semifinals might have sucked...

Yeah, that Big 10 is looking a bit overrated all of a sudden.

EDIT

Just saw this on ESPN:

ACC 8-3
Big 12 3-2
SEC 5-5
Pac 12 2-3
Big Ten 2-5

Was hopping for a better game, few yards really made the difference in the score. Clemson's D looked very good. And one of their players caught some shit for speaking his mind about how he has seen better QB's than Barrett, looks like he was right. Barrett missed open players for scores and big plays, they also had some drops not his fault. But the biggest question I have.. is why the Clemson player felt the need to grab an Ohio St's players asshole and balls? Hmm. I still dislike Clemson for how a player acted this year, and how games were gifted to them.

Tomorrow's USC, because there is only one USC and anyone who claims otherwise is simply ignorant to college football, and Penn St's game is pretty interesting. Both teams started off very shitty, and then won out. Pretty much a home game for USC too.

A bit? All the Big 10 fanboys spent a month crying that they didn't get three teams in the playoff and now they're just the ACC's bitch. What an embarrassing performance by supposedly mighty OSU.

yeah. OSU can go fuck a nut. Michigan should have been in that game...but of course, they "should have" beaten OSU to get there, but they didn't. I guess it's fair to speculate that Michigan would have beaten FSU the other night if Peppers had played, but who knows. I think it is at least safe to say that FSU would not have been able to have their way like they did in that first half.

Would have, could have, should have, might have...

What DID happen is that Michigan lost to the 4th best team out of the ACC.

No. Penn State should have been in that game, who DID beat osu and won their conference, but the CFB selection committee felt otherwise. Assholes. I blame Michigan State for this mess.

No, Penn State shouldn't be allowed to play football.
Penn State shouldn't have had 99% of the athletic program sanctions given to them and between how they've been mostly rescinded and how history seems to be viewing it now, that will probably be the dominant view sooner than later.

yes, it's a weird climate we live in, the things we forgive and the crimes we ignore, the blame we shift. We elected a sexual-assaulting, shameless corporate thief to handle our economic policy and military, but this is only after we seem to just let child rape go on as if it wasn't such a big deal.

I get that the NCAA doesn't really have that authority to punish legit criminal acts, but to say that "99%" of the sanctions given to them were unjustified is naive and petty. To assume that people will just stop caring about such crimes--as long as the "right" people and organizations committed them--and that is a good thing, is a sad vision of a society with jacked priorities.
