yes, it's a weird climate we live in, the things we forgive and the crimes we ignore, the blame we shift. I get that the NCAA doesn't really have that authority to punish legit criminal acts, but to say that "99%" of the sanctions given to them were unjustified is naive and petty. To assume that people will just stop caring about such crimes--as long as the "right" people and organizations committed them--and that is a good thing, is a sad vision of a society with jacked priorities.

Molesting children is only excused by religious nuts when it's done by the leaders of their religion. And at PedoState, football is a religion.

I was driving through SC at some point (an unfortunate event that I sometimes must endure), and stopped for lunch at some sports bar...wherever. THe locals kept talking up Carolina. I eventually realized that they were talking about South Carolina. obviously, this is wrong, because there is only one Carolina: those bastard shitstain tarholes at UNC.

But, to the locals in SC, apparently Carolina is SC. This instantly makes me hate SC by association. Nothing that anyone calls "Caronlina" can be good. I actually have family that live in the area, and some of them actually went to SC. Some of them are Carolina fans and some are "Carolina" fans. It's weird, but they understand each other somehow...as you might expect "Carolina" fans to understand themselves.

And yes, I've heard them refer to SC as USC--they even have hats.

Amdit it, you hate S.C. because of me. That's O.K. because I'm a Clemson grad.

And I agree, Clemson hasn't looked like a top anything team all year. They did look pretty good the other night but Bama is a beast.

I had Florida but I changed it to Iowa last night after remembering who FL was playing at QB. Also Iowa seemed to be trending up. Oh well.

I haven't seen much of this game. I was actually out getting a haircut and it was on TV and the girl was from Philly and wanted Penn State to win. It was her "second favorite team, but still I like them a lot more than South Carolina". I just let it go, but thought it would be fun to mention it here because of the controversy .

I'm still doing good with my NY6 picks though, could be 5-1 by the end of the night...

That is interesting. Might not be a bad idea. Look at 2000 BCS Title game, FSU went 2-13 against Oklahoma. FSU's OC was Mark Richt, who was already on his way out to Georgia. Considering the next lowest score that season was 24 points against #7 Miami, it was clear that Richt was focusing on his new job. I can't blame him for that, but I can dislike him for it.

Great game, I didn't really care who won. Just glad it turned out well. Penn St needed 4 yards to win, couldn't do it. I do think USC being relevant again is good for college football overall. Their QB sure is pretty impressive for being a freshman. Not the only freshman QB doing well either.

Missed the part when they saw that. Yea, there's more to it. She started it, but responding with that much force still isn't a good look for the media.

USC does seem to be trending up. FSU as well, also with a RS Freshman QB. Both also had a blowout loss early. Maybe someday soon they may play each other again?

To be fair, I hated SC before "knowing" you; but if it makes you feel any better, you have thoroughly failed to change my impression.

Yeah, Clemson has looked overrated much of the year, but they have turned it on late in the season and looked incredible the other night. Still, NCSU beat them!
