Terrible refs. UT is pretty deep though, however it was Williams' first year, UNC will make final four next year.

You think UT got more calls than Carolina? Please tell me you were under the influence of a drug when watching the game, because Carolina definitely had more calls going their way, they just missed shots.

Did I say that? No.

What did you mean by the terrible refs then? Simply that? I find that hard to believe.

nah, now let's not go that far. ACC is a great conference. I just think it's the press that hypes them up way too much. Calling them by far the best conference in the country, etc. when other conferences like the Big East, for example, are just as strong. Yes, the Big East conference is bigger but the top 9 teams in the Big East more than match up against the 9 teams in the ACC.

Hahaha..how did I figure you were going to comment on this

Ok, the ACC this year has Duke, UNC, NC St, Wake Forrest, GTech, Maryland, Florida St, UVA, and Clemson.

Top 9 in Big East this year: UConn, Pitt, Syracuse, Providence, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, Boston College, Villanova, and Rutgers.

ACC: Elite: Duke
Pretty good: UNC, NC St, Wake Forrest, GTech, Maryland
Lowest Tier: Fl St, UVA, Clemson

Big East: Elite: UConn
Pretty good: Pitt, Syracuse, Providence, Seton Hall, Boston College
Lowest Tier: Notre Dame, Villanova, Rutgers.

UConn is even with Duke if not better this year.
in the Pretty Good section, any of the Big East teams listed could beat the ACC teams listed. I'm not saying blowouts but very competitive evenly matched games.
in the Lowest Tier section, Rutgers is your Fl St (as tough as anyone at home, not so good on the road), Villanova just beat UVA handily, and I'll take Notre Dame who probably belongs in the Pretty Good section over Clemson.

Now, I know you're an NC St fan but come on now, give respect where respect should be given. Your ACC tourney champ just lost to 'Cuse, BC vs Tech will be a very good game, WF vs Pitt is a potential matchup as well as UConn vs NC State. Duke slaughtered Seton Hall today as they were clearly on their game but I can't imagine many ACC teams except for Duke giving UConn much of a challenge when they are on their game.

Oh Great, half my final 4 picks are gone. Kind of messed up my bracket, but lots of people also picked Gonzaga and Stanford...therefore, I am still alive! Go Texas and Pitts!

ACC - 6 Teams in the top 25, most of the season...
Big East - 4 Teams in the top 25, most of the season...
besides, we'll get a good ACC/Big East matchup tomorrow, GTech vs. Boston College...

Sorry, but rankings really don't mean much. For example, Syracuse with 6 losses not even the Top 25 but Michigan St was ranked with 9 losses plus Syracuse beat them easily. Or Syracuse loses 4 out 5 games in midseason and drops out the rankings but Wake Forrest does the same thing yet continue to stay ranked. Or the other way around, NC State had to go like 9-2 in the ACC before they got any respect and moved up the rankings.

Go check the Top 50 RPI (www.collegerpi.com)

ACC: 6 teams in the Top 50
Big East: 7 teams in the Top 50

Rankings are getting rather worthless with the parity of college basketball these days.

if you look at the RPI, ACC has 6 teams in the top 20, while Big East has 3 in the top 20...
i'm not saying ACC is a better conference, and you're right about rankings being a crap shoot.. but they do make some indications... all i'm saying is that you cant say that the Big EAst is a stronger conference.. especially when the ACC has 67% of their teams in the top 20....

so whos gunna win
so whos gunna win

g tech or boston college...

GTech baby!!! ... i wish Nevada was in a different bracket, id root for them all the way to the champs.. those kinda stories get me excited... but they have to play GTech if Tech beats Boston, so i gotta root for GTech...

First off, you wasted your time trying to predict who would win what. Any team could beat any other, all it takes is one to shoot better, the other to shoot worse, etc..etc.

Secondly, I like the Big East, don't get my wrong. The Big East is definitely right up there with the ACC, however, since there are so many teams, your sos isnt as high. In the acc, only FL ST, UVA, and Clemson didn't pose much of a threat to anyone.
Also, the ACC is pretty young right now. The only true starting SR on Dukes team is Duhon. Wake doesn't even have a starting Senior, and one of their most pivotal players is a freshman. Maryland only has one starting Senior, the rest are freshmen and sophomores. UNC's leading scorer is a sophomore, and UNC also lacks a starting senior. I could keep going, but I think you get the point.

And that is crap about no other team giving Uconn much of a challenge.

I find it funny how people thought St Joes didnt deserve a #1 seed, but thought Stanford did. Now the whole Pac-10 is at home, and the A-10 is rolling. Pac 10 is such a joke in football and basketball.

Indeed. Hell...Nevada and Pacific are the only teams west of the central time zone left.

True, that was a bad call. Unfortunately, there will always be bad calls as long as sports have rules and officials to enforce them.
Bad calls are just a part of the game these days

State could not lose the game all by themselves, they needed help sort of like the Ohio State football game

The OSU game was our fault, we made too many mistakes in that game.

This however,...bad call. It gave them 2 free throws and then they hit a 3. Take those 3 points away, we get the ball back, and it is a different game.

NC State was up 9 and looking good when I stopped watching? what else happened? One bad call didn't decide the entire game, Vandy just make a run?

State fouled 2 3 point shooters, made all 6 free throws, Vandy stole the ball and Melvin was running behind, there legs got tangled up and an intentional was called, he made both free throws and some guy made a 3, so essentially a 5 point play(which if it had not occured would have forced Vandy into fouling a team that shoot's 80% from the stripe)

Exactly Hodge was playing a terrible game, but I guess we needed him for his ball handling and decision making (ON OFFENSE)
