Here's the thing. I actually have something to back mine up. He just pulled his out of his ass. How do I know this? I'm not from Texas. I actually like the Northeast, just not sports fans in Philadelphia.

All you have are isolated incidents of random fans acting rudely. There's classless fans at every school. For instance, look at what they have to do at Maryland - http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/03/28/sports1359EST0130.DTL

It's dumb of you to generalize based on the actions of a few.

Oh believe me, Maryland has the worst fans in the ACC...and I don't even dislike them.

From what I heard, the incidents weren't isolated. Were you there?
BDawg, u talk sht about Philly fans, don't provide a link as to why, and then quote from something you still haven't provided a reference for... You troll on this board and don't expect to get flamed? You can choose not to like Philly fans, but provide proof before talking your sht and trolling.

Wait, you think that only Philly fans have a select few who choose to act retarded.

Your TV always has a tape delay? This is the first experience I've had with it, but then again it's the first time I've watched a tournament game and listened to it on the radio

Uhh...whenever we turn on the radio and watch the game at the same time, the radio is ahead by 1-3 seconds. Is that not just from the way it is being broadcasted? I didnt think it was "tape delay".
It must have been tape delayed, b/c the radio is usually behind real time or exact real time... I've never heard of radio being ahead of the game though.

Yes UMD also has an enrollment of 30-35K students... They are one of the largest schools in the ACC, of course there is more of chance of idiots to emerge out of a bigger sample size. Same thing with Philly, it's the 5th largest city in the US.

I think BDawg was just pissed that a school half the size of Wake Forest (he's from NC) won, and he couldn't admit that St. Joes was the real deal b/c he was clouded by his contempt for Philly fans. Give props where it's due, they were the real deal (as was Xavier) out of the A10 regardless of how the fans did or did not act.

Actually to correct you SP33Demon. Wake Forest and St. Joes have very similar enrollments numbers
with St. Joes actually have a little more undergraduate students. So Wake Forest is actually the
smaller of the schools.

Wake Forest has an enrollment approximately 3,748 undergraduates.
St. Joesphs has an enrollment approximately 3,850 undergraduates.

Their graduate students are very similar as well, with St. Joes also still have
a little bit more.

St. Joesph's Fact Sheet
Wake Forest Fact Sheet

Now, I'll be the first to admit that St. Joes was a good team. Rarely do teams that aren't good
make the elite eight. And they beat Wake Forest heads up. But then again, I think in terms of
how good each team was, I think they were very close, with St. Joes having slight edges in
leadership and consistency (a big factor I might add). St. Joes was a far more consistent team
over the season than Wake Forest was. Though I would bet if you made those teams play each
other home/away, that Wake would probably take the home game. Thats just my opinion.
The only problem I have had with St. Joes and Stanford for that matter was all the undefeated talk.
But thats really just an overblown media problem I guess. I mean St. Joes was good, just I didn't
think they were undefeated good.

My whole point, which you have failed to recognize, is that you can't judge things based on a few isolated reports. Nobody is going to notice the 95% of the fans that behave. They are going to notice the 5% that cause problems, and all you're paying attention to is the 5%. I really don't care what you think anymore though, so go on thinking whatever you want about "Philly fans."

Florida State has an enrollment of 35k or better and North Carolina State is just a little smaller, yet their basketball fans are tame in comparison.

Yup thought Wake had more than that. Well considering St. Joes only lost to sister Elite 8 school Xavier (who they beat earlier in the year at Xavier), I can't see how you can make a case that St. Joes wasn't "undefeated good". They also beat a slew of other teams that made the tourney such as Dayton, U of P, Richmond, and Gonzaga. If they shot their normal 3% against any of the current Final 4 teams, let alone OK State they would blow them all out. Dickie V may have been wrong about KY winning it all, but he was right about St. Joes having the best backcourt in the nation.

I can't believe anyone would calim Philly fans are normal fans. What you fail to realize is Philly fans brag about their asshat status. They say things like "If you know what's good for you, you'll stay home" to visiting team players.

It's not trolling if there's something to back it up. I've posted quotes. Now I'll post links. STFU unless you can post someone praising the behavior of a St. Joe's fan at the tourney.

Nobody's complained about any of the fans other than the St. Joe's fans. Take that for what it's worth. Either they're more of them are obnoxious or the obnoxious ones are more obnoxious. Nobody compalined about the Manhatten fans and they're more northeast than the St. Joe's fans.

I was at the ACC tournament, and the Maryland fans were pretty obnoxious and rude.

It was a Maryland fan who shot himself during the first round game between Wake and UMd. None of us had any idea what happened until after the game.

IMHO, if one of your fans discharges a firearm during the game, the entire team should be booted. :|

How could a non-duty police officer carry a firearm there anyways?

He wasn't suppose to be carrying the firearm, (at least in the coliseum)
Espn

Officers who are from an NC police or sheriff's office can cary concealed in a stadium in NC, but it is illegal for anyone else to cary concealed (I assume there is an exception for the federalies).

I never doubted St. Joe's was the real deal. I knew they weren't a 1 seed, but I knew they were a top 10 team. I also truly thought they'd beat Wake. We play far too inconsistent to have a strong run in the tourney.

I don't have a problem with Philly schools, my wife is currently a grad student at Drexel. It's just the obnoxious fans I can't stand.

Oh, and I picked X to go to the Great 8, where they did.

Not all defenses are built alike. This is why you need a big man as well. You live by the 3 and you will die by it if you have an off night or they play good perimeter defense.

I don't have the specific thread link from the St. Joe's board anymore, but here's their main link

St. Joe's Board
You post to the WF FANS' MESSAGE BOARD as PROOF of behavior? Omg, that's hilarious. That's like asking a Sacremento fan what he thinks of Laker fans. Like what a Red Sox fan thinks of Yankee fans. You're referencing the losing team's fans' opinion on the winners' fans? You've got to be kidding, I thought you'd post to something more credible like CNN, or ESPN. But I guess the behavior wasn't bad enough to even make local NC news, let alone national?

Some other posts from your "link": "I am not going to judge the whole St. Joes fans on a hand full of them. I would hope they wouldn't do the same about our fans. " This is the only intelligent person on here. Or: "It's like DR said, there's something wrong with the entire city of Philadelphia. For some reason, 99% of the sports fans in that city are complete jerks. " (<--------this must be you posting on there). Or: "Basically, a bunch of thugs that burn cars and loot when the Eagles, Phillies or Flyers win something of value. Forsyth Tech looks like Harvard compared to the dump they call a campus. It's a pro town that had some fun with the red-headed stepchildren in the off-months. It's between seasons for them and they are just looking for somewhere to get drunk and take out their agressions for being stuck in Philadelphia." Nice link, I've just proven its credibility worthless. Now, how about I go post on the St. Joes' message board about what a bunch of trailor park, uneducated hicks North Carolinians are. How one cut in front of me, and said dam city folk can wait their turn, and shoved me when I tried to get back in line! Surely you must see how ridiculous this is.

You say: "What you fail to realize is Philly fans brag about their asshat status. They say things like "If you know what's good for you, you'll stay home" to visiting team players." Are you referring to the Philly/Carolina game last year? Get over it already! Were you really that annoyed by the media's "tough guy image of Philly" that you now base all of your opinions of Philly on one game? The hilarity ensues.

Like I said before, give me a credible, unbiased link and I'll believe you. Until then, "STFU".

The Jayhawks will play Saint Joseph's, Georgia Tech, Nevada, TCU and Wyoming at home next year and travel to Villanova. Also, Kansas will play California in Kemper Arena.

Also, Kansas is expected to play in the Coaches Vs. Cancer tournament, which will start with a home game against Vermont and, if KU wins, a second home game against a to-be-determined foe.

A trip to New York for the semifinals and finals could result in games against Duke and/or Syracuse.

Go UConn!!

Cannot stand Duke. Bunch of whiny prima donnas.

Someone told me the other day Dukie Vitale was bitching about the number of fouls called against opponents of Duke. Seems, throughout the year, only 85 more fouls were called on other teams than was Duke.

Awwww....Duke is so fvcking perfect!

And then a report on some sports news about someone from Duke bitching about having to go thru a tougher regional. Guess we should just give Duke a bye into the Final Four every year.

Should be a great second half. Hopefully, Okafor can stick around a little longer this half.

Deng and Duhon are playing awesome.

Congrats to the Yellow Jackets.

They look better than both UConn and Duke but you never know with this game.

The Atlanta Hawks should fire every player and hire the Georgia Tech Team.
