Wow. Lots of Syracuse fans on the board. Well, i'm sure there will be an influx of (insert 2004 NCAA BBall Champion here) fans posting after the game. 'Cuse doesn't stand a chance.

They were saying the same thing last year too. Let's just play the games and find out.
Cuse won't make it past Maryland, u heard it here first... No way a team that loses to BC will beat Maryland.

On a sidenote, funny as hell on the Rome show with all the callers pissed off that Pitt is going to play Wisconsin in Milwaukee... they will be lucky to survive that, I don't think they can pull it out, Wisconsin is tough this year, and add to the fact they're playing at home....

I agree with Maryland beating Cuse. I think Maryland actually has a good shot of getting to the elite eight.

Pitt will destroy Wisconsin. The Big 10 was a joke this year, almost as much as the Pac-10. When your top 3 teams are MSU, Illinois, and Wisconsin..you are a joke conference.

Don't forget that Syracuse beat UCONN and PITT in the final weeks of the regular season. Maryland is on a good winning streak but I don't think they'll stand up to Syracuse 2-3 zone def. Both teams will have their hands full beating UCONN assuming all goes well for them.

No Mel-o, No Win-o.

LOL, nope, I don't much care for any of the college teams in OK...
I've never been much of a "local" fan. I tend to like teams that aren't the popular team where I'm living at the time - with the exception of being a Twins fan and having lived in the Twin Cities for many years.
I'm surprised at how many Niner fans I've met down here though. Plenty of Cowboys fans too....... FOR ME TO POOP ON!

Ah yes, such fond memories of an age old tradition... I see you've heard about it too! Couches will be burning after WVU earns a BCS Bowl this year with a BE win...

Realistically, we could quite possibly have another Big East Sweep of the tourneys.

SU or UConn - NCAA Champs
ND - NIT Champs
UConn - NCAA Women Champs

St. Joes had a higher strength of schedule BY FAR when you compare them to Ok. St.

Pitt got shafted big time. I personally thought they deserved a 2 seed, but even a 3 is fine. However, the fact that they may have to play a second round game against the lower seeded Wisconsin in Milwaukee borders on disrespect. I think Pitt will still pull it off as they have such a great squad that can do it all, but it will be tough for sure.

As far as the Big Ten being a joke, I don't really think so. Yea, the conference had a bit of a down year, but it is not nearly as bad as the Pac-10 was this year. Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan State are for real. 5 of MSU's first 12 games were against Top 25 teams, 3 of which were in the Top 10. That's a rough way to start the season. Illinois had won 12 straight games until Wisconsin beat them in the finals of the Big Ten Tournament.

I don't think that SU losing to BC is all that big of a deal. Yea, they blew a lead, but BC finished 5th in the Big East with SU being 4th so it's not like they lost to St. John's or Miami. As far as a possible SU-Maryland matchup, should it happen, Maryland's success against the 2-3 zone and which Syracuse team shows up to play will determine whether or not they win. If SU plays the whole game like they did in the first half of the BC game, they should win easily. If SU plays like they did in the second half of the BC game and if Gilchrist keeps up his hot shooting, there is no way that SU wins. Either way, it should be a good game. And if SU and Maryland do meet, I think whoever wins will have a good shot at beating Stanford. I would love to see an SU-UConn matchup for the right to go to the Final Four (with SU winning of course).

Does anyone know where the second round game between Cincy and Illinois (2 I picked in my bracket) will be played? I originally picked Illinois for the upset, but rethinking that one because I heard a) The game will be in Columbus, OH (don't know if this is true) and b) Illinois will have trouble against big, in your face down low type teams with good defense (epitomy of Cincy), according to the Sporting News. What are your thoughts on this? I think if a and b are true it would be stupid not to pick Cincy and will probably have to change my bracket.

Anyone else picking Arizona to beat Duke in the second round? Arizona's had a bad season but they are very athletic and dangerous when the starting five are all playing well and not slacking on defense. I'm a zona fan and duke hater...so I'm not necessarily picking them to win the whole thing, but if they'd beat duke in the second round then I'm good.

I think they have a decent chance. They're certainly GOOD enough to do it, it's just a question of whether or not they'll step up. Arizona's been playing like crap for the past month or two, it's kind of baffling why they remained in the top 25. Hopefully, they'll step up to the plate when it actually matters and kick Duke's ass.

In fact, Zona should beat Duke, UW should beat Kentucky, and Stanford should beat UConn. Maybe then the Pac-10 will get some more respect. All those games are *possible*. It would bust my bracket, but it would make me pretty happy if that all happened.

Well, it says Columbus on my bracket that I got from SI. I think Cincy is the better pick. It will be a tough game for both sides, but I think Cincy's defense will make the difference.

AZ and WA are both making first round exits.

Well...I already lucked out and picked Florida A&M over Lehigh. I filled out my bracket this morning and picked F A&M and then checked espn and they had won! I'd say my luck has about run out after that though.

Arizona has been overranked all year. They got swept by both Stanford and Washington. I had a hard time picking them to even win the first round.

Almost here... starting off with a bang too, because Manhattan is one of my upset picks, and I hope they don't get bounced.
