You obviously missed our game against Butler 3 years ago. IIRC, we score 10 points in the first half.

Anyone else picking Arizona to beat Duke in the second round? Arizona's had a bad season but they are very athletic and dangerous when the starting five are all playing well and not slacking on defense. I'm a zona fan and duke hater...so I'm not necessarily picking them to win the whole thing, but if they'd beat duke in the second round then I'm good.
I think they have a decent chance. They're certainly GOOD enough to do it, it's just a question of whether or not they'll step up. Arizona's been playing like crap for the past month or two, it's kind of baffling why they remained in the top 25. Hopefully, they'll step up to the plate when it actually matters and kick Duke's ass.
In fact, Zona should beat Duke, UW should beat Kentucky, and Stanford should beat UConn. Maybe then the Pac-10 will get some more respect. All those games are *possible*. It would bust my bracket, but it would make me pretty happy if that all happened.

No doubt that was a major difference. The refs were calling it very tightly in a very physical game. But about 12-14 of those free throws by Alabama were made during the last minute or so as Stanford was forced into playing hack and hope while Alabama's big men were already in foul trouble early in the second half and had to play soft for most of the half while Stanford was subing in plenty of guys to spread the fouls around on. And with the exception of Childress, Alabama looked a step quicker at most positions and was driving inside quite a bit trying to draw fouls when they couldn't hit a thing during the first portion of the second half.Originally posted by: dangereuxjeux
Hmm... check the stat line for the Alabama - Stanford game. I'm usually fully against saying things like this, because Stanford gave away the game with poor shooting , especially (obviously) during Alabama's run at the end, but I'm pissed: look at free throws. The referees decided that game to an extent that I haven't seen in a long, long time. Stanford gets only 11 free throws? Questionable foul calls abound? Ridiculous.

Terrible refs. UT is pretty deep though, however it was Williams' first year, UNC will make final four next year.

You think UT got more calls than Carolina? Please tell me you were under the influence of a drug when watching the game, because Carolina definitely had more calls going their way, they just missed shots.
