the patriots had no business being in the superbowl last year, and have no business being .500 this year.

I don't think you'll have to worry about them making the SB this year, so rest easy.

if theyd hadnt won it, a lot of people would have said the same thing about the giants
When did they get rid of the Brady rule (low hit on QB)?
During the bye week both Cam and Pees must be fired.
I would put Tyrod Taylor in is mobile and is also a pretty good passer. I watched Tyrod develop over 4 years at Virginia Tech. Initially, he was primarily a runner but developed his passing skills by his senior year.
The combination of an incompetent OC & DC, plus a very-much-overrated Flacco, means this team is going nowhere. Their dominating defense masked offensive ineptitude for years, but now the depleted and greying squad, which can no longer control a game, has left the incredibly inept offense standing there, naked, for all to observe.
It's going to take several years to rebuild, and that's if management even bellies up to the bar and admits, "it's time."
So, the Pats are trying to rework the offense so Welker is not a part of it? I think Welker is a goner. He got the big salary in the off season and now the Pats want to unload him.
As to the Pats, wtf is going on? It looked like they had finally addressed their lack of a running game, and at least part of their defense.
But the running game is just forgotten some weeks. Steven Riddley is supposed to be the number one running back, but he is hardly out there. Danny Woodhead is not anyones idea of a number one back, but he seems to get the most snaps.
Their defense looked like it was finally coming around after at least a couple of years of rebuilding via the draft. Yet they are back to no pass rush and defensive backs who are either the worst in the league or are being failed by the lack of a pass rush.
Brady doesn't have many years left at the top of his game. I say I go ahead and trade Welker, trade a couple of draft picks, and get a number one cornerback and a rock'em pass rusher.
Some of the Ravens fans that you see online are total lunatics. I had to laugh at this shit:

Lose one game and they act like the sky is falling.
Welker didn't get "big money" in the off-season, he was tagged as a franchise player, a contract was not reached, rules say a "franchised" tagged player he HAS to be paid the average of the top 5 players in the league at that position. Ridley is not "hardly out there" LOL, he is their #1 running back, 17 carries today, Bolden usually spells him but is injured and didn't play today. Woodhead is a third down type of back, small and elusive, difficult to see running behind huge O linemen. The pass rush has been improved but not nearly enough to prevent the DB's from being exposed, starting safety Patrick Chung never lived up to the hype, tries to play like Ed Reed but winds up over-pursuing and injures himself trying to deliver the "big" hit.. They ran for 138yds today, OK but not quite what they want, vs Seattle they ran very little as the 'Hawks are very good against the run and Bolden not present..
welker did get big money. they wanted him to sign a long(er) deal where they could have backloaded a significant portion of the money and then axe or trade him in a couple of years.
