What would have happened if the Seattle player just fell on the ball in the endzone?

I'm impressed with his Matrix like ability to slow down time then....

You would have to be full on, pants on head retarded if you don't understand their skill at the highest level. WRs do this almost weekly with highlight reel circus catches.

That ODB jr. catch last year? Fucking matrix shit eh?

Lions should have been awarded the ball on the one yrd line 1st down. What an embarrassment that the NFL, a league that rakes in billions cannot find Refs who know the rules of the game and even worse was there were head officials in NY watching at the same time. That situation should have been corrected right then and there.

Aren't all turnovers reviewed by the main office and officials? It does make you wonder why NONE of them figured the call out.

doesn't mean that penalty is "reviewable", as stupid as i think it is that only certain penalties can be reviewed.

I think the ref thought it wasn't blatant and nobody was around the guy so he could have just fallen on the ball so it wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome.

Not sure if that could be a reviewable penalty or not, but I personally think any score or turnover review should include penalty review and/or assessment if the penalty directly affects the play (ball or ball carrier).

Yeah, the refs probably didn't consider it blatant for whatever reason.

They don't respect the Lions, and as a Lions fan myself, this team doesn't really deserve the respect.

When you go 0-16, and have been losers for the better part of 25 years, you basically are a laughing stock.

Refs are killing the game overall. Too many damn penalties, and they miss a game changer at the end of a game. How???

Honestly, I sure as shit didn't.. lol. Overall though, games have just been shitty because of the officiating. Not saying that just cuz I'm a Bills fan either, lol.

Agree, it was a good non-call as enforcing the penalty would have been looking at the letter of the law rather than the spirit. The result would have been completely contrary to what actually happened in the play, as a non-fan of either team I think it was the correct decision.

There's been a shit load of penalties across the league, but there aren't THAT many bad calls. I've seen some sloppy fucking football this year and it's not the officials fault these knuckleheads can't keep their shit together.

I knew it was illegal. It happened in a Patriots game a couple of years back (not the exact same circumstance). And it makes sense as the defensive being the one who forces it out bounds, shouldn't benefits.

But, I blame the Lions coach. Looks like a deer struck by headlights the whole game. He should have raised Holy Hell.

But, if I wouldn't have known given this, the Fail Mary and the amount of PI's, holdings and offsides that don't get called against Seattle, I would say the refs are paid to help them.

Yes, a game two weeks ago were the turnover was reviewed and part of the discussion was whether when the defender went to grab it but was unable to causing it to move further down field to see if it became a push (to keep away from offense recovering) and therefore a penalty.

How would the offense have recovered it? There wasn't a Lion player within five to ten yards when the ball was batted.
