I'm starting to wonder if the Packers can stop anybody, maybe Alex Smith?

The 99 Rams won the Super Bowl.

Eh, 2001. Close enough.

I just remember those SBs where one team is a heavy favorite with a huge passing attack and no defense and then the underdog comes through.

The NO's defense is a little better and they seem to be slightly more balanced. The thing is that we've seen all defense and barely any offense win multiple times, with the TB season and the Ravens too.

Yeah, Denver looks like they'll get into the playoffs pretty easily with the Raiders killing themselves as usual.

No TEBOW this TIME! The league's best passing fullback just can't win when the other team is running out of bounds or his kicker isn't hitting 60 yard field goals.

I'd hardly call it a surprise. Orton is still Orton. There's a reason he's been moving all around to many teams. He's just not very good.

Well, Tebow is still Tebow with the running focus. With so much rushing, it's hardly surprising that the RBs are going to be banged up all the time.

And Palmer is still Palmer, haha. God, I can't believe they traded a #1 and a #2 for him.

regarding the patriots, can anyone name a worse 13-3 team from memory?

Oh stop, don't play the my-team-isn't-that-good card just to anti jinx it.

The Patriots have consistently been one of the best teams in football the past decade. They have a great QB and coach. They're definitely a great team right now. In fact, there's no way they don't make it to the Super Bowl. Scratch that, the Patriots will definitely win it all, I don't see how they don't.

They are not that bad. They are still among the best offenses in the league. Look at the packers and Saints, they have the similar issues on the defensive side of the ball. Essentially, they are all pretty much the same team, so it's not a surprise to see each has a top 3 QB.

The Pats have been good for a decade but this season, they've shown major weakness. Like giving up tons of passing yards to everybody. The 3 times they've won the SB, their defense was one of their strengths. The other times their defense has sucked, they've gotten bounced.

The last few weeks, they've been down ~20 points because the offense seems to start slow with Brady's shoulder injury. Sure, they've come back against these weaker teams but against a solid playoff teams, like the Steelers, coming back 20 points is not easy.

Denver's defense wasnt the reason they lost today.

Also I wonder if there is a "fire the head coach" section in Al Davis's will.

Everybody wants to harp on the D for yards allowed. Yes, in that stat they are terrible. Where they aren't too bad is in points allowed. They are are right there with the Packers and Saints. Also, they are #2 in interceptions, and ranked high in overall turnovers as well.

They certainly have defensive issues, but if the offense is playing well, they will do well. The other high scoring teams in the playoffs have not-so-great defenses as well, and the good defensive teams have pretty weak offense.

I think it will be a rough road for them, but they are certainly a contender.

edit - and yeah, that's the one thing I see being a problem. If they come out slow to a good team like Pittsburgh, it's gonna be a lot tougher to come back. The Steelers are pretty banged up going into the playoffs though, and barely got past the Browns.

Maurice Jones-Drew is the best running back in the NFL this season on one of the worst teams. That's saying something. Great RB. He's been around a while, too.

bet steeler fans will be bitching, 12-4 team going to 8-8 teams stadium

And when Rothlisburger gets sacked and is out for the rest of the game on the first drive and Tebow leads his team to another victory, it is going to be glorious.

A Charlie Batch led Steelers could beat the Broncos. Tebow? LOL
