Preseason starts today, so how's your team looking?

Ending of last season sucked but It's the same group this year for the Canucks, and we might get some upgrade on the second line. Looking forward to the season.

Not so good right now. Still no clue when Crosby might be able to play. Geno has stepped up a lot when we're missing Sid, so hopefully we see some amazing things from him this season, but I worry about losing so many of our tough guys even if he does AND Sid comes back early in the season. We're ripe to be knocked around pretty hard.

Still, though .... the amount of talent is insane. Looking forward to it as always. Im just hoping we find some way to get rid of Matt Cooke.

Hurricanes made some changes but only time will tell if they were really improvements. Im hoping they will slip into 8th, maybe 7th in the east and make the playoffs this year. Im expecting 9th, with a maybe on 8th, depending on how well poni, stewart and skinner perform

Have fun with Max. You guys will love him. I was pretty sad to see him go.

I wonder if he's been spotted hitting on dudes in Center City yet. The fans bitched about Carter going out, getting bombed and hitting on the ladies, so I'm sure they'll be all over Talbot.

That signing is not popular among hardcore Flyers fans, but I like it. He's a replacement for Carcillo, but can actually play some hockey. I think he'll be good for the younger players, especially if he ends up as a 3rd line wing with Schenn (C) and Simmonds (RW). If he ends up playing mostly 4th line minutes, you can entertain keeping a guy like Sestito up or put him out there with Shelley to cause some trouble.

As a transplanted Philadelphian currently living in Bruins country, I think Flyers fans are going to warm up to Talbot.

Talbot is the kinda guy you cant help but like. He's goofy, always a fan favorite. He does awesome stuff for the fans. More than once, he bought pizza for a whole bunch of fans outside the arena and brought it out to them. He was known here for hanging out in clubs and being very cool to hang with - the OB/GYN nurse we had when my wife delivered our youngest told us she and her friends had run into him and he was buying them all drinks and stuff. Not trying to get in their pants, just hanging out and bullshitting.

Being a Flyers fan, I'm sure you remember the "Shhhhhh". That's good old Max. He's all of 5'10" and had to know he was going to get owned, and he didnt care one bit. Ballsy as hell and will do what it takes. I'm going to miss the hell out of him, and I think you're right, Flyers fans will warm up to him. He brings a LOT more to a team and the fans than what he can do on the ice - and his on ice contributions can be significant. He always seems to come through when the team needs it most.

Well I hope they do well because I've got Staal and Skinner on my fantasy team

Holy crap, it's hockey season already?

I'll check in when baseball is over, and then really get into it in December.

Our whole season hinders on the performance of Semyon Varlomov. And it could be argued that the entire immediate future hinders on his performance this year and over the next few

I wish they would start playing, right now just about all Redwings' news centers on the death of Brad McCrimmon. It has totally taken me away from getting into reading about all the subplots going on right now. So sad.

Hoping jonathan quick can carry the kings again.

Kings won't need to be carried with the upgrades they've made, not to mention if Quick can't - you have Bernier waiting in the wings.

This could be the Kings breakout year, if not the cup I can see them in the WCF and cup within the next couple

Can't wait to see both Selanne and Hiller back in action again. Hiller been out since start of January and Selanne been sitting on the fence whether to come back for another season up until like a week ago. Went to see our team practice over the weekend and the guys are looking sharp. I see a lot of new faces but also a lot of familiar faces who carried the Ducks to the playoffs last year.

They always start strong though and then shit the bed midway through the season. It's sad. Any chance Doughty pulls up stakes and heads somewhere else?

Sincerely, sincerely doubt it. Its possible they make a blockbuster, trade deadline deal if they think there is another piece that will help them win the cup more than Drew.

But I don't see it happening.

It'd be really crazy to see them trade Drew, but apparently there's a bunch of bad blood between the kings and his agent? Still sucks he's holding out.

Also hoping the sharks having a more mobile puck moving defense leads to good things.

Word dude. As long as Varly's healthy, the Avs are quite possibly the playoff team that absofrigginlutely nobody saw coming. But he's gotta play 50+ games for that to happen. Stastny should rebound from last year, Duchene should have a monster year, and our D should finally be able to knock guys around.

Oh, and in case you haven't seen this video of Varly flat-out robbing Duchene from the Burgundy/White game, enjoy.

NICE!!!!!

Thanks for the vid dood. Don't get me wrong, I agree on everything you said. But as you said, Varly's health is KEY! Very key to our success, unfortunately his past doesn't show us 50+ games.

I'm still optimistic, thats for sure

it's more like: Duchene display's how not to lift the puck

Many goal scorers would have done the same thing simply assuming he had the goaltender beat. Besides, its an inter-team scrimmage. Watch Duchene break out with 30-40 goals this year and 80 pts
