It's official, next year's winter classic will be the biggest hockey game ever played:

I wonder if they could hit 120,000 fans. Place seats 110 but IIRC the record for a football gameis 116, with some on field seats 120 seems attainable.

I wish they had done it all in Comerica Park where the view will be distant, but not like the big house where the view will be like from other zip codes. Plus, it would have been neat to watch it from the Tiger Den seating. I love those seats.

The view from the Big House when I went to the Big Chill wasn't awful. This will be so much cooler with 100k+.

The Big Chill drew 113k and I have no doubt that this will eclipse that.

I watched it on TV and the angle of the lights and the cameras made for some bad glare on the ice. Hopefully they learned and move the cameras to a steeper angle. Everyone that I talked to that went said it was a good view even from the top.

I hope to be there for this one, Leafs better bring it!

I had no doubts they brought up Shaw and Hayes to showcase them for a possible big-name trade for a top 4 Defensman or a top 2nd line Center.

The pens won 4 to 1 last night against the Rangers. Malkin is saving the Pens. He had 2 goals and 2 assists last night and the pens won 4 in a row. Kris Letang came back last night too and had an assist. Things are looking so much better now!

I don't really believe that they brought them up for that sole purpose. The Hawks have been hit with some injuries lately and needed to fill holes. Hayes and Shaw have proven themselves and then some. There are scouts at every minor league game. If a team sees something, they will offer the Hawks a trade. Bowman isn't a dummy and won't kill the team depth or chemistry to add one piece. If they want to keep a player, it's not like they are doing TERRIBLE that they can't keep the team the way it is. They are rounding into form now and once they really get the 4th line going the team will be scary again.

another stupid win by the hurricanes...i want to see them play well, just not this season.

the tlusty goal, however, was pretty nice. look for it on the highlight reels, went between voukhuns legs across the crease and as tlusty is going down he swing and knocks it cleanly in.

In their last 15 games, the Blues are 10-3-2, with all three of those losses coming from the Wings. Just yesterday ESPN called the blues the "hottest team in the league"
