DE-TROIT SUCKS! DE-TROIT SUCKS!

Seems his statement holds up
Speaking of Don Cherry, he was quoted as saying the other day "Outside of Detroit and Columbus, fighting has a direct correlation to points". So a friend of mine threw this together:
Seems his statement holds up
Does it?
You have four top teams spanning everything from fights little to fights lots with the median right in the middle. You've got like 7 second tier teams and the same thing, their median is right around the middle. The only thing you can say with certainty is that bad teams don't fight. I guess if you're lack luster in your play you're not interested in fighting.
Don Cherry is a moron
ehh, I think you did not read the graph very well.
The deal will pay Ruutu $4 million next season and $5 million in each of the next three years in a deal that runs through the 2015-16 season. He would've been an unrestricted free agent after this season.
The 29-year-old Ruutu is second among Hurricanes skaters with 17 goals and fourth with 30 points in 57 games. He has 80 goals and 107 assists in 289 games with Carolina since being acquired from Chicago in February 2008.
rutuu signed for 4 years, $19 million.

well...meh. he doesnt really make anyone better, imo (whereas cole made staal better, for example). he provided some umph when he was with skinner/jokinen but he doesnt get to play with them much now and doesnt seem to do staal that much good.
so i guess theres a maybe that allen or spacek get moved, neither of which will bring anything special back or do anything for the team next year. which means ill get to see the same meh team, with 2 or 3 minor players changed, next year.
awesome.
Either I haven't been keeping up with NHL Contracts or that seems to be overpaying.
i was yelling many obscenities at my television when this happened. Preds fan
Me too. I think I even created some new ones.
Im a Nashville and Philly fan, i believe Nashville has a better shot to go deep into the playoffs than Philly this year. The damn flyers need some goal tending like none other, Bryzgalov is a good goalie but not worth what we paid for him and its impossible to build any confidence there b/c as soon as you loose a game the fans want your head.
