Didn't Howard come back from the broken finger?
If Helm, Lidstrom, and Howard are all healthy come playoff time, Wings may knock off a higher seed team in the first round. Not really worried about Ericsson, he was overrated, playing next to Lidstrom made him look good, personally I'd rather have Eaves back but that's not gonna happen this season.
Ah, gotcha. Sucks for him...he did, breifly, then hurt his shoulder, (or something "upper body") and is out again.
McDonald also out (not sure why) last night they played Conklin, which is funny because the Wings put him on waivers just a month ago, no one picked him up, he went down to the AHL, had it not been for two goalies being injured, he may have never seen NHL ice again.
He did play well though, I think he is trying to redeem himself after losing his backup goalie job to McDonald
It's probably going to be a Preds/Wings series in the first round. If we ever had a chance to get past the Wings it's this season mainly due to us finally having a truly competitive squad.
ya if the standings hold steady that is a likely 4 and 5 seed game. Part of me was hoping they slid to 7th or 8th seed, and had all their top guys come back fresh for the 1st round, and knock off either STL or VAN. But then again, with the home/away disparity its probably better they scrape together all the points they can for the rest of the season, to better the chances of getting home ice in a series
I hope for that same thing, because STL or VAN would wipe the floor with DET.
You guys are on pace to do it. Seems like you have lost every single game I've seen the score to lately.
I see your playoffs herp a derp is setting in early this year. Neither VAN or STL has a winning record over the Wings this year.
We'll see. I'll put money where my mouth is if you like
So, what is the bet? I might want a piece.
I don't know if you've been able to see many Hawks games lately, but he makes a HUGE difference back there. I was pissed at the trade deadline that they didn't do more, but it turned out to be a big deal. The Hawks have missed Brian Campbell pretty badly this year, and the move also allowed them to put Keith and Seabrook back together again to play against the other teams top offensive line on a regular basis.
before he was aquired: 3-14
since then: 10-1-1
That's not just a coincidence.
oh, and -
Please God let the Blackhawks and Canucks meet in the playoffs
Please God let the Blackhawks and Canucks meet in the playoffs
Please God let the Blackhawks and Canucks meet in the playoffs
Please God let the Blackhawks and Canucks meet in the playoffs
Please God let the Blackhawks and Canucks meet in the playoffs
edit - I just re-read your post Fallen hero, and I think I misunderstood what you were trying to say. Sorry.
I thought you were saying that adding Oduya had no effect on Chicago's D, and that their problems were mental, not personel related.
Basically I am betting against the Wings, almost regardless of who they play.
Nashville
St. Louis
Vancouver
I won't pick Chicago or Dallas against them, and they are most likely to play either Nash, Chicago or Dallas so I wouldn't necessarily pick anyone accept for Nashville.
But then again, I can honestly see the Wings losing at least half of their remaining 8 games or so, so who knows.
I'll tell you who will the floor on those teams the pens will. The Pens are wiping the floor with the Preds right now it is 4 to 0 and the second period just started. The Preds are supposed to be good? They look like amateurs out there right now.
The Preds look awful right now. But hey, I'm sure we can all find games where our teams look awful.
And lets be honest, sometimes things go your way, sometimes they don't. Preds missed at least 3 empty netters and had one roll off the post. Such is hockey. It's funny just how fine the line between being good and "are they supposed to be good?" actually is in this sport.
This is what happens when teams play the Pens they make you look bad. yes the preds are supposed to be good or are you say having the 7th best record in all of hockey means you not good?
The Pens make you miss empty netters? Maybe I'm not reading your reply correctly. I think anyone who watches hockey knows it's a game of inches, bounces, etc. and sometimes things go your way other times they don't.
The Preds are a good team and so are the Pens. Things are just going the Pens way tonight, not trying to say anything negative about them at all. Just saying the stat line shows more of an extremely close game until you get to the actual score.
Close game lol total domination by the pens 5 to 1 and Malkin MVP.
Nevermind, I can tell what kind of fan you are. I have plenty of friends like you.
Sure the Preds have the number 1 PP and the Pens kill 2 of them off like it was nothing but I'm sure some how that it was a game of game of inches.
Lets talk about stats you saying that because Preds had 30 shots compared to pens 23 but the score sheet says different?
Every other stat was about the same except for Sv% Flurry .967 Rinne .783 and the one that counts the most GOALS Pens 5 Preds 1
So the first 1:23 seconds Malkin scores a goal and by me saying the Pens dominated this game I'm that kind of fan? bawbwbaaawaahahah.
Box score of this game.

The box score tells the same story I referred to, you're just being too dense in victory to understand what I'm writing. At the end of the day it doesn't matter, this was just 1 of 82 and the ones that matter are coming up soon. Perhaps we'll get to see them play again.
