Epic chokejob by the Pens. But srsly this should be about Lundqvist, who yes is still in his prime. If you compare him to other great HOF goaltenders who have played 20 years or more, he's barely at the halfway mark. Setting the NHL record for most consecutive game 7 wins = mad respect. It'd be nice to see him finally win one, this could be their year.

I don't know, if Boston blows it tomorrow, fingers crossed, then they got a very good chance at making the finals, but I see the ducks taking it all regardless of who makes it. There I just jinx'd the ducks, sorry bout that.

Kane's puck handling looks like something straight out of older hockey video games where you could do crazy offensive moves that shouldn't be possible in real life.

Thank goodness tonight's game went better than Game 4 in Minneapolis--the Hawks were just painful to watch in that one (being a Hawks fan in the opponent's arena also didn't help). This certainly wasn't pretty for either team but both teams showed their guts playing all out.

Hopefully this game shuts up all the Crawford doubters too (not bloody likely). If he didn't play as well as he did, the Hawks would have lost that one by a half dozen goals.

Yea get rid of Bylsma, the main reason you have been as successful as you have been over the last several seasons.

Better yet replace him with Tortorello so you can completely miss the playoffs next season like the Canucks did or make a first round exit like the Rangers did all those years.

Shero is the problem and yet the coach will take the wrap. Shero is the one who should have concentrated on defense at some point instead of making an all offensive team. Should have traded Letang for a real defenseman when he had value, now the return would be shit. There may be a need of a change of head coach but Tortorello is a joke and the GM should be gone too. Complete overhaul I say. Blow it all up. Trade Crosby too.

^ it's funny how that sounds like the problem the Caps had faced and experienced early-round exits the last few years they were in. Finishing with a crap ton of points in the regular season. All "pretty" offense and no defense. Having Mike Green instead of a "real defenseman". And then they took Boudreau's job.

They finally let Semin go and had a hard time scoring at all. When we trade Green for a stay-at-home guy it'll be snore-fest hockey all season long. But that and a deep forward set is what wins playoff games. I don't know how it can be fixed and while playoff hockey is more exciting, it makes no sense why we have a regular season that looks like a completely different game. Maybe the season should be shorter so the intensity and desperation is consistent. Of course the brass won't like the loss of revenue.

I won't hold my breath waiting for the media to call out Crosby. If he wore the number 8 and spoke with a Russian accent they would write something like...

"Damn lazy ________ Does he even care? They won't get past the second round until they trade him and give that C to a real captain."

But since it is Crosby, they will make excuses for him, and blame the team/coach for his lack of playoff performance.

My heart really goes out to Pierre McGuire. With Crosby out of the playoffs he won't have any spank material until next season.

^ lol Ovechkin fought through a tough NY defense + Lundqvist in the playoffs and still put up meaningful points. I would love to hear Crosby's excuse. Even terrible in the CBus series. Malkin was a beast despite it all like usual.

Come on, Tortorello needs a job. Can you imagine a season without him in it. It'd be dull I tell you that.

Anyways, you can't tell me that Bylsma shouldn't go. Year after year of disappointing ends after playing so well in the regular seasons can only mean one thing, he doesn't know how to adjust. Playing a series is much different than the regular season with the way the teams figure out the other teams weak spot and expose it. This was done too much against the pens and Dan had nothing to compensate for it. If you want a great regular season coach, then by all means, Dan's the man. Don't get me wrong, Shero should be gone too for keeping Dan around this past year.

I still never understood the Pen's getting rid of Michel Therrien.

Malkin is among the most undervalued players in the NHL (on par with Kopitar) with regards to media attention. Any attention he gets is always spoken in the same breath as "Crosby".

Price was so solid all series and really turned it on the last 2 games.

Boston probably outplayed Montreal again but Price made all the stops that were needed and Montreal buried their few chances.
