I don't think there is a np better team in the East right now than the Bruins. They have talent, size and meanness. They can be beaten in any single game, but a seven game series is much tougher.

Michael
As much as I hate the Bruins, this has obviously (to me, anyway) been the case for most, if not all, of the season.

If Brad Marchand misses another empty night I'm gonna have a heart attack, that game was way closer than it needed to be.

nose face killah missing those empty nets was one of the strangest things I've seen in hockey...I started thinking the mob had their hand in the game somehow. those misses were just bizarre.

He did not have the puck in his current possession because he had just over skated it but that does not make him an uncheckable player. Backes was not playing heads up hockey, he was not keeping track of his surroundings and he paid for it. He placed himself in a very vulnerable position being that close to the boards while turning / stopping. However, the hit was high and dirty and that is something I will not argue.

I do not believe that Seabrook intended to injure him or hit him quite like that. He is not that kind of player based on his history and his lack of league discipline proves it. Seabrook finished his check on a checkable player that turned into the check and made it worse than it should have been.

bolded 100%

he had lost possession for not much longer than toews.

anyways.

its 2-2 now

I hope the bruins go out now and the hawks can win the cup again. I am going to be in Boston in July and I will make sure I buy a few extra hawks shirts to wear, should be blast considering how I got cussed at for wearing bears stuff there during championship week of 2006.

So far my west coast picks are doable. Who would have thunk that chi would win 3 straight to take the series lead. I had picked chi to win it in 6 and advance the whole way to the cup finals. My east coast picks...now thats a different story...detroit better step it up a tad.

The Wings are making me sad. Giving up a goal on a bad penalty with less than 5 seconds left in the third period ...

The Habs know who they are playing now. The one team where there is that extra emotion and effort against. I am going to cheer hard for them but I think they are too small and the Bruins are just too tough. I think their one hope is that Price decides that this is the series to be the goalie that everyone thinks he can be.

The Habs can certainly beat the Bruins in any one game and did well against them this season, but a seven game series when you are that much smaller and less tough than your opponent and it is really hard to steal a series unless your goalie become super human.

The Habs also have a pretty poor power play which helps Boston even more because they can afford to take more penalties in order to punish the smaller Habs forwards.

Seabrook comes right at him. He can see that Backes is not in possession of the puck. Of course he's going to turn around to get it. Seabrook would've hit high or even the head even if Backes had kept going in the same direction. Backes is not far from the boards, less than a foot so had the check been clean, he wouldn't have gotten injured. He is uncheckable because he is not in possession of the puck. Seabrook might not have been aware, but that doesn't matter. The checking player is responsible for making a clean hit on a player eligible to be hit.

I'm sure Seabrook's intention wasn't to injure him, but that's a really dirty hit coming from someone in complete control of the situation. He could have made the body check and gotten a minor for interference instead of a suspension for charging resulting in an injury (and a major on the ice).

Amazing comeback by the Ducks to win in OT. Dallas was so close to forcing a game 7.

Down 2-4 with 2 minutes to go and still winning the game, phew!

Smith-Pelly showed great patience on the 4-4. How he could keep his nerves and stick to the side of the net instead of piling in with the rest with less than 30 seconds to go was really impressive.

Well the Western final is going to be down to three teams more than likely.

SJ or LA vs. Chicago.

Second round is likely going to be quick in the West unless Anaheim puts up a good fight.
Chicago should steamroll the Avs or Wild unless they decide to play well below their capabilities.

Minnesota got robbed Saturday night. Ugh...

Because of the offsides call? How about the bullshit penalty against Landeskog with less then 5 minutes left. The offsides was barely 2 inches.

The refs have fucked up every game so far in this series, usually in favor of Minnesota. Like missing a completely obvious delay of game in game 3 when it was 0-0 and would have left Colorado with a PP with 3 minutes left. Cooke only getting a minor penalty when he should have got a game misconduct. Numerous missed calls. Colorado deserved to get one back.

No, the missed holding call right before the offsides that prevented Minnesota from ending the game. You can cherrypick calls all you want and say that Colorado deserved a bad call in their favor, but those other calls didn't change the outcome of a game.

There was nothing wrong with the Landeskog call BTW. You can't snow shower the goaltender. He was getting away with stuff all game, that was just the last straw. He's lucky it wasn't worse, because he pushed a linesman (could have been a game misconduct).

Let's not forget that the Wild took the lead on a shift where there was a blown slashing call, causing a broken stick. Now who is cherry picking calls because that certainly changed the outcome of the game. Avs wouldn't have been down in the first place.

And as for "shoving" the linesman, he barely even touched him. Passion's run rampant in the playoffs and you can find this in just about every game.

I have seen snowing in nearly every game and that was the only time it was called. You don't call that shit in the playoffs with 5 minutes left. Getzlaf did it twice to Lehtenon last night and wasn't called.
