I agree with your comments in this thread, but I do want to point out that this shit is happening more in the NHL now. Players are putting themselves in really bad positions to take shots to the head or get boarded, thinking players will pull up because the rules will save them. Stupid shit like players turning at the last second to show the numbers, getting boarded, and then crying foul because they get injured. Same shit with guys putting their heads down. It's happening more and more, especially in the corners and below the red line.

And you know what? The NHL is obliging them. Yeah, they leave with a concussion, but the other guy gets suspended - shocker, it's absolutely not a deterrent to either party! What's the first thing they teach you? KEEP YOUR FUCKING HEAD UP. Suddenly the pros don't do it.

I'm not so sure this is due to the rule changes, or that it is worse now than before. Scott Stevens dealt a lot of concussions to guys long before there were rules against head shots. I still have some rock-em-sock-em video tapes at my parents' house which contain an abundance of evidence that idiots have been cruising through the neutral zone with their head down for a long time.

Back then they barely ever diagnosed the concussion though, so guys didn't miss as much time when they got hurt.

Devils are playing really well in must-win games. Game 5 is pretty close to must-win, hopefully Lundqvist doesn't play like a brick wall again.

The only reason this series isn't over yet is because of Lundqvist. NJ has dominated puck possession from pretty much the majority of the series. He's a frustrating goalie to play against. Hopefully he starts tiring soon like the rest of the team around him.

I have to hand it to him though... he's a human cheat code.

Yeah, he has kept them in it. We can say we've outplayed the Rangers skaters for the entire series outside of 2 periods, but we can't say we've outplayed the Rangers for the same time.

Winner of tomorrow's game should win the series. Devils in 6 or Rangers in 7.

It was a HORRIBLY officiated game. Kings got screwed in first two, Yotes got screwed in 3rd and OT. Also that was a bullshit interference call on Doughty, as was the offsides call against him in OT.

I don't know what to think of the brown hit. It wasn't dirty as far as I can tell (the mike and jeremy scrap is hilarious) and I didn't hear the whistle in the replay. I gave doan the benefit of the doubt on his hit on lewis earlier, so I'll give the same to brown.

The Flyers already embarrassed NJ two years ago so who cares? Congrats, NJ beat a team of rookies that just lost their Captain and Ass-Cap. I predicted Philly would lose anyway.

It was an forearm to the back of the helmet grazing, and Volchenkov pulled a cute little dive after he realized the back of his head was hit. To suspend Prust over such a pansy hit was ridiculous and NJ = diving pansies.

If someone hit me in the helmet with their forearm I would have laughed it off and not acted like I was hurt like Volchenkov did to embellish. It's fcking sad.
