Aww be kind, he's so happy - leave him in his own little happy world

Btw, not being funny, but the benchmarks do look good, all except Far Cry (does it need update, or dx9c to run NV40 properly maybe?)

interesting....system boot power consumption of the 68U is LOWER then the 98XT and in power consumption during 2d idle, but this is old tommy, i hope anand does a power consumption comparison too.

edit: the difference in power consupmtion during a 3d game is where the 68U is more hungry then the 98xt but marginally...hm i wonder if a 480W PSU is really that necessary.

Don't think the R420 isn't going to be a power hog too... It has a pair of molex connectors as well... Days of sub-400W power supllies are numbered.

There are conflicting reports of the X800 power connectors smahoney, but the general consensus is that it only has 1 connector. X800XT may have 2, we just have to wait to find out.

You may be surprised.

Well in some of the tests they were CPU limited rather severely.

Wait a couple more weeks to see "what's coming".
No matter "what's coming" . . . i STILL gotta upgrade my PS.
(or would you run a next-gen GPU in a O/C'd P4 system with a generic 350w PS [turbolink, i think] that came with my Asspire case?)

edit: as to "min CPU requirements" - as fast as you can get.

2nd edit: Anand sums it all up:
Final Words
Similar to Anand's 9700 Pro introduction, the GeForce 6800 has set some pretty solid standards. We can now expect:

1) Very high performance in current and future games.
2) The ability to play at 2048x1536 in just about any game currently available or soon to be made available, and
3) The ability to play virtually any game at 1600x1200 with 4X AA and 16X anisotropic filtering enabled at smooth frame rates.

Yeah my 400 watt futureproof PSU is looking pretty sedate right now.
