I have nothing to say but just wanted to say.... 1ST POST!!!

j/k

Can anyone who has an eVGA board post results with independent cpu and memory fsb overclocking?

this is a feature that makes this board AMAZING yet no results have been seen so far.

AT planning on showing some benchies?

Google it. There are some reviews out there. Looks like an awesome chipset.

ppl need to remember when overclocking this thing there is holes in the fsb settings...as was stated in anandtech review...that is why ppl are running into problems when overclocking with certain fsb speeds...ive seen many ppl complaining of that but it has been stated and hopefully it will be fixed in the next bios update

So do you think there is any chance that there will be a MicroATX motherboard based on the 600 series chipset?

This board is definitely slower than P5W-DH in CPU/memory intensive applications with 2T command rate. However it rocks in 3D. Lots of stuff to fool around if you want to squeeze the most out of components. Getting 1T to work will require high-quality memory and once you get that to work then the memory performance will be comparable to that of 975X. I still haven't gotten 1T stably @800MHz/3-3-3. For me, adding voltages didn't do any good for 1T. Overall I like this board a lot and decided to replace my P5W-DH with it, despite the memory issue. Hopefully NV will fine-tune the BIOS for more performance. Besides I have a couple of bad experiences, where ASUS boards performed excellently at the beginning then failed over time. (Their boards just doesn't give me the rock-solid feeling to me, but it's purely subjective)

Board feels very solid and you can see the components are all high-quality. One thing to note: This board has lots of oversized capacitors! Wow I haven't seen that many, fat, and tall caps on motherboards. Be careful not to break them!

Has anyone unearthed any comparisons between the eVGA board and either of the Asus ones?

I've given up 1T for now. It's just too flaky. Until NV comes out with a better BIOS, the touted 1T seems reserved for Corsair Dominator 1200MHz. :frown: It's too bad because the performance gain is definitely there. For Super PI 8M calculation, 1T is almost 8 secs faster. (800MHz/3-3-3, CPU 3.60GHz) I know Super PI is not the be-all-end-all application, but it's a very good test for memory subsystem in that it's quick and very responsive to timing changes.

Update: I'm getting somewhat better stability with 1T using black slots instead of blue slots.
Update 2: Back to 2T in blue slots. :frown:

OK, it appears that tightening subtimings get me close-to-1T performance. (instead of leaving them auto) Now only if I can tighten the subtimings and get 1T at the same time..

What memory are you using?

First OC results on the Striker.... E6600 that would only do 449FSB on the EVGA board (NV is working on a new BIOS this week) is not having any issues on the Striker. This was the first boot and before I could really play with the board before leaving on a media tour this week.

Striker OC

514fsb is pretty nice for a 7 multi but what I'm interested in being able to OC with a E6600 stock multiplier. It seems the E6300/E6400 is still the better chips for OCing on these mobos.

9x418 with this CPU, that is all it has left in it and even Scotty could not provide any additional power to it. My ES sample will do 9x427.
