Can't say I have yet, but that is only because I wish to wait for a sale price at one of the local stores. I've usually been able to get my favorite new release on sale within a couple weeks. List price is $59.95 which is kind of high! EB has it for $54.95 but still thats high.

I frequent a couple of RGP related forums and lots of folks picked it up on the 18th and 19th but aren't reporting much yet. I guess NWN is flying off the shelves.

One of my best friends locally bought it, installed it, but it won't load. He typcially DM's pnp games so he may work on the mods after playing the canned game.

I am extremely impressed so far. The menus and actions and cameras and graphics...all perfect. They have taken BG, BG2, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment and used the best features of each combined with a seriously sweet looking graphics engine.

Awesome game so far. Load times and speeds are awesomely short.

Im running 8x6 with all bellls and whistles with 4xFSAA and it's smooooooth.

Well I bit and bought the game at WalMart, used my 10% discount.

I will make another post after I go through character creation and play it for a little while.

Well before I even get that far, I have to say already, I'm disappointed with the packaging. No jewel case(s)?? WTF I hate these stupid CD sleeves.

The cloth map is somewhat lame too.

Well I have just played this game for a while and as a non D&D nut, all I can say so far is WOW!! ( i never played PnP D&D, my experience is limited to PC games, Dungeon Hack, IWD, BG2)

First off, it is simply beautiful. I have every graphic option maxxed out at 1024 res, 4x AA, with the system in my sig. Simply stunning.

Character creation is VERY in depth..I created a Half-Elf Ranger, have already leveled up twice, now at level 3. Skill selection is cool, as well as the feats, something different than Baldurs Gate 2, although this doesn't have the more specialized kits like Cavalier, swashbuckler, etc. Oh my god, and the character portraits... BEAUTIFUL. Great artwork. Quite a nice selection for all the diff classes/races.

The camera is a bit weird at first but I've seemed to master it.

Combat animations are VERY well done. Blocks, parries, slashes, it all looks great. still trying to get used to the menu driven interface, you click on a character and it gives you all the options there. I am just accustomed to the Infinity engine, nothing negative about this new style.

No comments on magic as I have no spells yet, being a Ranger.

I am quite satisfied though... so far, this is making Morrowind look like a waste of 50 bucks.

agreed. Just got this game today and it is awesome. It also has faster gameplay than morrowind which is a big relief. Load times are good, even on my tbird 1ghz. This game is a must-have, far better than dungeon seige and morrowind.

Im waiting for a price drop too. I figure next weekend it should be on sale a couple places. thats the way it works alot of the time. they make the money off the people who have to have it RIGHT NOW! and then drop the price a week or 2 later.

i've been playin it non stop over the weekend ... and it absolutely rocks ....
the magic effects are superb ...

the one wierd thing i encountered :-
i had 2 copies of installation disc 1 ????
what gives ? does anyone else have 2 of the discs ?
everything works fine so i've basically ignored it so far .... but im wondering if best buy actually opened my box or something ?
any ideas ?

that's odd. I got 1 copy of each disk, install1, install2 and play.

ummmm...did u do a full install? cuz if you did, it would have asked for all 3 cds and then should have spint one disc out when it was expecting disc2. are teh contents identical? or perhaps just mislabeled?

the official NWN forum is full of people who got the wrong package contents.

the publisher realy screwed up big time and put the wrong discs (for example 2 disc 1 and no disc 3) in and left out manuals and maps.
apparantly not the majority, but enough that I am going to buy it from a walk in store and open it while Im at the checkout.

I played for about 2 hours and my FRICKING HARD DRIVE FAILED.

So I ordered a new one but it won't be here for a couple of days so I won't be able to get back into it. (on parents computer now)

But from what I did play all I can say is WOW. Awesome game. Just what I have been waiting for.

Also, the toolest is extremely cool. I bought the guide for using the toolset and have been reading it since I can't play the game. You have to write in C Code (well, more like C-Lite) for some of it. It is really powerful. I already have a adventure in mind to create to put my friends through
