Fail. Just discovered it's actually thursday and not today.
Why did I think it was today?

His agenda will be defeated; his new version really contains nothing new and will be questioned by both sides. With elections looming, I predict many will not opt for the poison pill of voting for the health care bill.

That is okay. His plan is already fail. The only thing his plan would do is bankrupt insurance companies.

there is no workable solution
the problem is the baby boomers, the bubble in the demographics
baby boomers have the power and don't care about what happens to the rest of us after they die, they just want to squeeze out a few more years in Florida playing golf at our grand children's expense

I know a great location for you to stick your new big head driver, but I imagine it would be par for that course.

Ouch!

And why all the irrational hate for boomers? I assumed Fobots remarks were made in jest, if he really believes boomers are the problem with healthcare thats just strange and delusional. All most boomers have done is pay in SS,medicare and ever increasing insurance premiums for 30+ fucking years while working and not taking shit out of the system, to now be facing retirement with medicare healthcare that will be constantly limited and cut.

While gen X'ers don't think they need to pay for insurance, SS or medicare because they seem to be too stupid to realize that one day they will be the old farts. Seems to me they are more of a problem than the boomers. We are used to paying for other peoples bennies, been doing it all our lives, but just the thought of it makes you whinny little bitches shit your pants

When I was a youngster, Sonny, I sold a pint of blood for $6. With that $6 I bought:

1 ticket to see Eric Clapton
1 8-pack of Rolling Rock
Gas - full tank in my '62 Beetle
1 real hamburger

And had a dollar left over.

So.

I was actually suggesting you use that big head driver on FoBoT - LOL

But I will agree with FoBoT on one issue. The Floridiots (or Halfbacks) need some serious help ....

Welcome to the politics of the coming elections, when the Republicans will try to make inroads with the young by throwing the old under the bus by having 'youth movements' recruit against elder care.

I doubt the main party will promote this a lot, but it'll be like the merger of libertarians and the religious right previously, they'll both 'vote Republican'.

not sure how 'buy a product or face a tax' is going to pass constitutional muster

not really seeing anything that reduces the ~15% of GDP being spent on medical care.

Bankrupt the insurance companies and we'll need another jobs summit. Obama sure is good at holding summits. Seems the only thing he is good at.

Insurance companies suck up employers compensation budgets, which could be used to hire more people that create actual value in the economy instead of being parasites.

I do think that spending 30 cents on the dollar just to pay for something is bad business. I certainly wouldn't use a credit card if I had to give them one dollar for every 70 cents I spend. Or worse yet in case I needed to spend 70 cents.

Does anyone have any statistics on percent operating expenses for auto-insurance. I just hit a deer which caused $10,000 of damage to my car, yet I only pay about $1500/year in insurance.

The plan looks really nice. Any kind of reform is good, and this will ultimately help a lot of people. I probably won't see any benefit from this, but it'll be nice to know that at least some people wno't have to choose between feeding their kids and getting life-saving medical care.

You are under false impression.
Corporations will pass on the savings to their shareholders, not use it to hire new workers.

Any kind of reform that doesn't reduce healthcare costs isn't good. This bill won't do a thing to reduce healthcare costs.

Those people you mentioned can apply for medicaid.
