What's the OCZ memory that would give me most flexibility in doing this???

THANKS!

Are you looking for a 1GB or 2GB kit? Do you have a max price range?

2 GB kit would be great. What are the options with price ranges?

Thanks!

For 2GB kits I would take them in this order.
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/m...24mb_platinum_edition_dual_channel_kit
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/m...24mb_platinum_edition_dual_channel_kit
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/m...r_pc_4000_gold_gx_xtc_2gb_dual_channel
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr_pc_3200_2gb_dual_channel

The first 3 kits will let you run over 250FSB and the last kit has been doing 230FSB or more for most people that I've seen. The prices of these kits are listed highest to lowest

BH-5 isn't going to do 275FSB nor does it come in 1GB sticks.

If you want 275FSB I would take a look at this set
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/m...r_pc_4000_gold_gx_xtc_2gb_dual_channel

- Steve, You say that the GX can do 275? I own that set, how would you suggest I go about getting them to run at 275HTT 1:1? I have a DFI NF4 Ultra-D bios date 06/23/2005 w/ A Venice 3000 (9x Multi) and the best I can get stable is 260 1:1 or 250-255 w/ dividers. I would like very much to have 275@1:1, and there are others trying very hard to get these to work above 260 too!

275FSB isn't guaranteed, but I've seen it before. The pc4000 XTC and PC4000EB are the only 2GB sets we have that may be able to hit 275FSB. The timings you have right now are the best one to use, but you may want to try the 704-2BTA bios to see if it helps

The 3200 platinum 2GB kit should get to at least 220FSB with 2.5-3-2-5 timings. As you go faster try 3-3-3-7 timings.

My platinum 2 GB kit could maintain 2-3-2-5 up to 210FSB and 2.5-3-3-7 up to 245FSB. All at 2.7 V. I passed memtest at 250FSB with 3-4-3-8 @ 2.75 V, but I haven't tried any higher. Great memory kit from OCZ!

I just purchased an OCZ PC3500 dual channel kit, part number OCZ4331024ELDCGEGX-K. I'm going to install this in a new system I'm builing based on a DFI LAN PARTY UT nf4 Ultra-D. What timings should I set this at and what is the max Vdimm I can use?

I have a:
MB: asus p4p800 rev 1 - W/ ami bios ver 1021.006
CPU: 2.0GHz mobile Celeron @ 2604mhz
PSU: raidmax rx-450kw
Video: ati 9200se aiw vivo
HSF: zalman 5700 (all copper)

MEM: OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Platinum Dual Channel

right now I have memory on auto and cpu @ 30% OC(2604), which is the same as if I set cpu to 20 X 133. My question is what should I set mem to as a start and where should I try to get it to?
I've had this MB and cpu higher (around 3.0) but with cheap mem I always had never was too stable.

also I heard dual channel doesnt help much with video encoding so would I be better NOT runnin in dual channel?? I dont play game much @ all

Thanx For this thread and your help !!

You can start off with 2-2-2-5 timings and go up from there. The ram can take 3.2V as long as you have a fan cooling them

I have the OCZ DDR500 (PC4000) Platinum EB RAM (the Infineon stuff) and I love it.

Only thing is, does the ram just not like high voltage? I mean jeez, this stuff runs stable at 250mhz @ 2.6v (the lowest my mobo can do). Before, I had it at 2.8v and tried for 260mhz and it wasn't stable, but maby if I lowered the voltage to 2.6v it might be stabe since it seems to hate higher voltage? Never got the chance to try it out though (the 260mhz @ 2.6v), hopefully it'll work, what do you think?

BTW, my timings are 3-3-2-7 @ DDR500

Thanks

The memory wont be a limiting factor here. Just set 2-2-3-5 timings and OC away. If the memory is only running in the 133-210FSB range you don't need to even think about it

I don't know why your ram only likes 2.6V, but that could be related to your motherboard as well. My 4000EB does like 2.8V, but I also have a fan cooling mine. Maybe you should give that a shot

I'd just test out all the voltages from 2.6-2.8V and see which gives you the highest overclock

Hi Steve,

Wow. Googled for an hour for some answers. Cant believe I ended up "home" here on AT. Welcome!!!!

I have a pair of Performance 1g (3-3-3-8)

Doing a build with a DFI Ultra D and Opteron 148. Multiplier is 11. Do I have a shot at 11 x 250 with a 5/6 divider on these sticks? I was, at stock voltage, able to do 11x240 on an asus a8n sli deluxe with a pair of 512 Corsair tccd's at 2.85 volts and a 5/6 divider.

I just would love to able to use the 2g set of OCZ

Thanks in advance, Leigh

With the 5/6 divider you shouldn't have any problems running 250FSB using the 2GB performace kit
