When making a peanut butter and jelly sammich do you use a knife for the peanut butter and the jelly or do you use a knife for the peanut butter and a spoon for the jelly?

I hate it when the jelly falls off of the knife and I equally hate it when the peanut butter gets stuck on the inside of the spoon and you tear your bread trying to get it all off... so I use a spoon for the jelly and a knife for the peanut butter... a lot of work for a sammich.

Sorry... I hit the wrong button when making the message. On the good side... this is the most replies I have ever gotten.

Another question would be: Do you put the peanut butter and jelly on opposite slices of bread, or do you put them both on the same slice and cover?

I personally rarely use jelly, just go for the peanut butter. Toast the bread too. Mmmmm.....warm peanut butter.

Oh, and W

Why not use the outside of the spoon for scooping and spreading the PB? That works well.

I will use a spoon for both, but only when I've run out of knives and am too lazy to wash one.

What a thought-provoking thread... I like it!

Definitely on opposites... cause then I can witness the union of sandwich perfection the instant it takes place.

Boy, with the flaming you've gotten, maybe I shouldn't admit this but I use a knife for the pb and a spoon for the jelly.

Spoon for jelly, knife for peanut butter.

(Great, I can feel myself getting dumber for having responded to this, thanks a lot)

YES!! I AM NOT ALONE!!!

I don't worry too much about the flames... got my flame-proof jammies on. Besides, if people can't be nice... that's their shortcoming, not mine.

Here's how my PBJ formula goes:

3 pieces of bread (any type)
crunchy peanut butter (creamy is for wussies)
jelly (pretty much any type)

Slather one slice of bread in peanut butter using a knife. Insert knife back into peanut butter, eat peanut butter that is stuck to it.
Cover another slice with jelly using a spoon.
Stick all 3 slices together with the plain slice in the middle.
Cut in half.
Pour 32 oz cup of milk.
Enjoy.
