Huh, if you can do native 4K RT with 5090 then why would you ever buy the 6090 🤔I'm hoping with the 5090 I'll be able to do some RT at native 4k.

Because I also use VR flight sims, and one of them being a military version requires all the brute forcing you can throw at it.Huh, if you can do native 4K RT with 5090 then why would you ever buy the 6090 🤔
On a side note I do like the 30th anniversary edition look for the PS5. I'm betting they will have the PS5 pro model 30th anniversary edition as well available on the 26th. If they do I'll try and get that one.
I didn't see a price for it but it will be more than $699 or sure since it includes a dual sense edge controller as wells as a regular controller and an optical drive cover.Oh, wow!
This changes things and I may just pre-order it. I consider myself a pretty die hard Sony fanboy, and have have the PS2, PS3, and PS4; only reason I missed the PS5 were because of the scarcity & scalping.
Being Sony, they'll probably charge an extra $100 for it?
Probably done anyways. They have nothing in the pipeline.According to the source, the $400 million doesn't even include the purchase price? Ok, maybe there may be something to hiking the price of the Pro to make up for some of these losses.
I'd fire all those involved with this catastrophe; even the top SIE brass could only distort reality for so long. I'd imagine Sony Corp has suggested should Fairgames and Marathon flop, they're probably all done.

Why would you not play turn based RPG because of Elden Ring? I can understand being ruined from playing similar genre games like Lies of P that are good but not at the level of Elden Ring but don't get ignoring a completely different genre. If you want hardcore turn based RPGs check the Shin Megami Tensei games. Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne is spectacular if you don't mind the PS2 graphics for example. If you think God of War's combat is blah compared to Lies of P you're probably playing at the wrong difficulty. If you play Give Me a Challenge or Give Me God of War it feels very Souls like and Sigrun is one of the best boss fights I have ever played. As is Gna in Ragnarok.Well, they have Fairgames and Marathon. Not sure which is next, but I'd imagine it would be Marathon? Both appear underwhelming, but on the bomb probability scale, Marathon is less bad, I suppose.
ER was made with $200 million. Wukong was made for $75 million. Concord was, again according to the source, north of $400 million? Another bomb, Sony will seriously consider a studio in Asia, especially with lower labor costs, maturation of AI, and tapping into a potential fast rising Chinese gamer market.
The current SIE just doesn't appear to be making games for gamers. As I'm sure with most of us here, I've been gaming since I was about 8 years old. As a life long gamer, just watching the Concord play (I couldn't care less about cinematic trailers), two things instantly came to mind. One, the game play appeared as if it had been in slow motion, made for the slow reflex casual gamers. Two, the characters looked ugly and utterly unappealing. Not that I'd ever play a live service game, but this was one I wouldn't be caught dead playing.
At least with the PS5 Pro sticker shock, Sony isn't going with the ole Concord persuasion strategy of, "it's not for you, if you don't like it, don't buy it."
Edited to add:
PS - Also, 8 years? When following a trend, it's probably better not to take almost an eternity to bring that trend following sheep product to market. For example, before playing ER, I was looking forward to trying BG3. Afterwards, I can't bring myself to play it, even when it was on sale. Turn based with absolutely no skill involved just seems so lame after those ER & DLC bosses. If I wanted the D&D experience, I'd go back to the 2nd edition of BGs 1 & 2. Even GOW's combat just seems so blah after ER, Lies of P and Wukong.

The SMT games have pretty difficult turn based combat. It's funny when SMT Nocturne dropped on PS2 something like half the people who bought the game quit at the first main boss (Matador) because he was unbeatable playing the game like it was a typical turn based RPG, like they were playing Final Fantasy and you could just grind your way out of difficulty. It's a skill check seeing if you've learned how the game's battle system works and one you'll fail 100% at if you haven't, sort of like how Genichiro is 100% unbeatable in Sekiro if you haven't gotten good at the deflect and parry swordplay system. Same thing in SMT III Nocturne. When you get to Matador in Nocturne you'll get crushed the first time and you better build a party that's strong to his attacks and can buff your party and debuff him and find ways to get extra turns while taking turns from him. And the whole rest of the game is like that. So is SMT IV, though that's on the 3DS. Haven't played SMT V yet (just bought it) but expect it's similar.I had every intention of playing BG3, but after ER/Lies of P/Wukong, the old turn based no skill combat relying solely on the die roll just seemed bland and underwhelming. I grew up with AD&D 2ed and just don't care for the newer dumbed down versions. So, at this point, I'd rather replay BGs 1&2 enhanced editions.
I usually hate difficulty settings because they just make the game tedious and painfully unfair. NieR Automata is the chief example of this fresh in my mind where playing on hard makes everything a bullet sponge and then you die in like 3-4 hits. God of War is the exception though. Give Me a Challenge makes the combat as good as Souls games IMO and I didn't find any bossfight in Lies of P that I liked as much as Sigrun in God of War 2018 or Gna in God of War Ragnarok. If you didn't do the valkyrie fights in GOW2018 or the berserker fights in GOW Ragnarok at Give Me a Challenge or higher you missed the best parts of those games. As to GoW, I don't really care for games with a difficulty scale which feels artificial. I find the notion of just making enemies do crazy damage, extra HPs, and my attacks nerfed to be completely unfulfilling. I much prefer the ER type games with no difficulty scaling, and with a boss fight tuned by the devs to meet a certain difficulty or challenge. Hard but fair is a concept that really resonates with me.

God of War 2018 goes on sale for $10 all the time for Playstation and its MSRP is $20. It's also on PC though if you have a decent system. It's not Elden Ring, but then again the only game this century I'd put on the same level as Elden Ring is the complete edition of Bloodborne. But as a huge Souls fan the combat on Give Me a Challenge was very satisfying, especially in the valkyrie fights. And I liked Ragnarok even better, though that was mostly for the graphics while still keeping the same high quality of combat and story telling from the first. And if you want really challenging but not cheap combat you have to check Sekiro. Another game I found to have amazing combat was Sifu, though I played it before they introduced difficulty levels after all the casuals were complaining about how tough the game was. This is helpful.
I had every intention of playing the GoW series until I just got wrapped up in ER for over a year, where it was literally the only game I played or wanted to play. I can't ever recall any game experience just pulling me into their game world as this one had. Even now, I can't wait to play it again.
You know, assuming I'll be able get the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary edition, I'll give GoW a shot. Right now, I see it on sale at Walmart for $40. I will most certainly buy and play Bloodborne, irrespective of the 30 fps limitation.

Personally I didn't find Nioh 1 anywhere near as good as FromSoft games nor God of War. Haven't played the second, but the first game had this debuff called the sloth talisman that just felt cheap both when used against you and when you use it against enemies. It slows your movement to a crawl and makes you a sitting duck, and conversely it makes every enemy trivial, even bosses. Made the game like a 6/10 for me vs the 9.5/10 GOW2018 and Sekiro were and the 10/10 Elden Ring and Bloodborne were. And felt like I had to use the sloth talisman in parts of Nioh 1 because if I didn't get it in first I knew it would be used against me. I really hope Nioh 2 toned the sloth talisman down because it ruined what could have been a really good game in Nioh 1. One other thing I hated about Nioh 1 is there are some levels with instant death pits that feel cheap, especially a boss fight where you have instant death pits all around you. I hate that kind of crap in non platformer games. Aside from the sloth talisman I liked Nioh enough that I'll play the second game at some point and hope it has been toned down. That single debuff dropped Nioh 1 from an 8/10 to a 6/10 for me.On the 26th, I'll know whether or not I'll have a PS5 system. Should I prevail (assuming many will try for one of the 12,300 30th Ann PS5 Pros), I'll very likely pick up GoWs, Bloodborne, and the Nioh games for the PS, rather than PC. I'm currently running an RTX 3080, and just waiting to upgrade to the 4080 when the time is right. So, hopefully, the PS5 Pro can be a new toy to hold me over until GPUs begin their next price decrease.
PS - I have Sekiro GOTY Edition in my library, picked up when it was on sale for $20 - $30. Haven't gotten around to it yet, but it's definitely on queue for my next play, probably behind Space Marine 2.
Have you played Nioh 1? If so, has the sloth talisman been toned down? When I was playing through it I thought Nioh 1 was going to be joining my GOAT games list for a while, especially after that epic early game boss fight against Hino-Enma, until enemies started using the sloth talisman against me.I will say nioh 2 is a much better game than Rise of the Ronin. In terms of combat and abilities, for example. I follow fightin cowboy in YouTube since he does a ton of souls like game walkthroughs and he was hoping Ronin would be a continuation of nioh 2 but open world but it's not.
The graphics are ok, the horse runs like a cardboard cutout. The combat is alright, you have a dodge and a weird counter parry button that doesn't work exactly like a parry. It's weird until you get used to it but it's hard to become used to it. So you only have light attack and that counter spark button. Enemies later have a bunch of hyper armor too.
I prefer nioh 2 even though I never finished it but Ronin could be the more chill version of that type of game.
Harder than most From bosses.Sigrun is one of the best boss fights
I could not disagree more. Absolute pushover compared to Malenia. Killed the boss in 2 or 3 tries. The final boss of the Bloodborne DLC is extremely challenging, harder than Malenia without summons IMO.
Jeez how? Took me no joke 60 attempts to take the final boss of the Bloodborne DLC out.I could not disagree more. Absolute pushover compared to Malenia. Killed the boss in 2 or 3 tries.
Parry is overpowered in Bloodborne. It's the easiest From game because of it.Jeez how? Took me no joke 60 attempts to take the final boss of the Bloodborne DLC out.
I found him a pain to time the parry on. Feel like Demon's Souls is by the far easiest FromSoft game for me because of how easy it is to get backstabs and without it having a single difficult boss.Parry is overpowered in Bloodborne. It's the easiest From game because of it.
