What the...
*checks date*
Well dang, I guess so. Carry on while I continue to age over here.

Man, I go back to the golden era of Falcon 4.0, Starcraft, Quake, Unreal and still remember fondly BG1 on 5 CDs. Those were some of my favorite games of all time, and until ER, nothing in the modern era had come close to eclipsing them in overall fun & gameplay.

Well, if we're going to talk about older games, I fondly remember classic point-and-click games. I have Phantasmagoria and its 7 CDs packed up in storage. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was great, and had full voice acting on the CD version. The Monkey Island games with their hilarious combat. Myst is a classic and one-time best selling game for a reason. Lots of good ones.

Apparently preorders start 10am EDT. They are already all sold out in the UK for both regular pro models as well as 30th anniversary edition. People said the queue works but when you get to checkout the site crashes which is typical of last time they had preorders.

I already see a bunch of listtings on eBay starting at $2500 for the 30th edition and like $1k for the regular pro.

30th edition costs 969 pounds which translates to roughly $1300.

Ok, I'll try then. Not being able to save my CC adds an unnecessary step to completing the order.

I'm surprised it's the regular Pro has sold out. Great demand, scalpers, or very limited supply for the UK?

I think you'd need something like GTA 6 to change people's minds on this, lol. That might sell some Pros if it's only 30 fps but maybe they could do some PSSR FG to get it working at 60 on the Pro.
Yah that is my thinking to be honest - that they use a 60fps GTA6 as a major marketing point.

Me personally, I couldn't care less about that game and haven't had interest in GTA since San Andres. I just do not like those games anymore.

I just refreshed the Sony direct page and I got put in a waiting room. I wonder if they are preparing the queue or just testing it.

I'm out the queue now but it just went to the main direct site. I don't see anything related to pro or 30th anniversary editions.

Not sure about Amex I'm gonna use a MasterCard but in US Amex is usually accepted. I've had trouble overseas using Amex though.

LOL I mean I don't know how they could be any more clear about what payment methods they accept.

Lol back in the queue now for 30 min. I can already tell their site is screwed up. Also logged on in my phone on a different network and no queue there.

Wait time more than an hour. Oh well not gonna happen by the time it's up.

On Reddit folks already saying they were able to order. So not sure what is going on with the queue. As it was paused for so long and then I got over an hour, then 48 minutes, then 35 minutes. Then back to 39, then back to 45 mins..now it's at 29 lol.

I'm at 27 minutes now but it was at 20 earlier. I think people are joining now and seeing a long wait and leaving.

30th edition is sold out. I was able to order a regular Pro model and then got the email confirmation.

I wanted to get the anniversary controller but it put me back in a queue. Edit: I did end up getting a 30th anniversary controller.

Yeah, 30th unavailable the moment my queue ended, and I was able to enter. So, as I've said, not interested in the vanilla Pro, and will now await for the PS6. I had the queue on my iPhone, MacBook, Thinkpad, iPad and Desktop, but to all to no avail.

Just not one of the lucky ones, I suppose. Well, see y'all when the PS6 is about to launch!

Nah no such thing. It's for traffic mainly. Sony doesn't care who buys them.
Very much disagree. If someone paid a scalper $1200 instead of $700 to Walmart for a PS5 Pro that buyer is much less likely to buy an extra controller, maybe buys one game instead of three, etc. Sony doesn't want scalpers buying these.
