Just finished this game in about 20 hours, wow not quite what I was expecting. Let me first say that the last Pokemon game I played was Sapphire on the GBA, and the last one I completed was Silver on the GBC.
I thought this game was extremely short, and extremely easy. I think for Pokemon Silver, I burned 40-50 hours beating both regions, getting all 16 badges, and catching the legendary dogs.
This one on the other hand essentially ends after you beat the Elite 4 (which I did on my 2nd attempt). Sure you can catch Mewtwo, some other weird legendary thing in another cave, and a single legendary bird, but that's it.
I chose the frog Pokemon to start, and used a combination of him and Charizard to blast through all the gyms. Each were low 70s when going into the Elite 4. I used a grand total of 10 different Pokemon through the entire game, and that was only due to needing some "utility" pokemon that could use the "Cut" or "Waterfall" HM. Most of the pokemon in my party leveled up yet I never used them (Machoke and Haunter). And for people thinking that I never battled anyone or just sped through, when I got to the elite 4 I had around 1,300,000 dollars in my guys account, so I did battle every training along the road that I could. Also got every TM there was in the wild.
I was kind of expecting/hoping for a 2nd region to open up with another 8 badges and more Team Flare or some other team to surface, but I was disappointed All in all way too easy and short compared to the Pokemon games I grew up playing. Are any of the DS Pokemon games built like the GBC versions?
