Im still not sure...i dont like that it still doesnt seem he understands what he does, but since when does character have anything to do with baseballs hall of fame.

I say if he is eligible let him in, but i dont think he should be eligible as long as players like shoeless joe are still not eligible

pete rose should not be in the hall of fame for one reason -- he does not fulfill the requirement of not being banned from baseball. the rules state u cant be in it if u are banned, and he is banned. end of story. it doesnt matter if it was a requirement when he made his shady deal accepting his banning, it is now, and now is when he's being considered.

But, Shoeless Joe never went through with it and hit .375 in the World Series.

Great player. Good hearted guy. however, he broke the rules and shamed the game. That should not be rewarded. That is sad, cause he lived for the game, but what he did was a bannable offense. end of story.

he retired as a player BEFORE he was banned. he was a manager when he got caught.

he deserves to be in the HOF as a player NEVER as a manager.

Yes, he has to be reinstated to be let into the hall. That doesn't mean he would be allowed to manage again though.

No, the man bet on Baseball while managing a professional team. He committed one of the worst sins a player/manager can commit and he has zero remorse for it. Not to mention he outright lied for 14 years about gambling, and then expects us to believe what he says now? Bullsh!t. For one, I don't trust his word at all anymore, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he was betting against his team or even betting while he was a player. He fvcked up royally and now he's going to have to pay the consequences.
