Just put my pre-order down @ amazon.

I tried pre-ordering games before but I never got the game in time. So now I just go in to Walmart and pick it up after work the day it's released. Much quicker and easier.

Man, I hope this lives up to the hype of these reviews. I remember reading the reviews of GTA4 and how excited I was for that one and I didn't even get to 20% complete in that game. My excitement for RDR meets or exceeds the feeling I had for GTA4, but there's a small part of my brain that has it's reservations after my experience with GTA4.

At least I'm not paying full price like I did for GTA4, so that's a win already!

Mine won't be for that (although she hates that stuff too) it will be from too much Video Game time.

With MW2 map pack #2 coming out as well I am going to have to be selective about play time.

She has always been very good about this stuff and never bugged me about it but I do have to wonder if she is just being nice.

And I should mention that I don't play all the time maybe an hour each night -- occasionally 2 hours in one night so it's not like this is all I do.

I've never had an issue w/ Amazon- always get them on release day...plus the $20 gift card...

Yeah, Amazon + release day delivery has yet to fail me, always in my mailbox when I get home from work on release day.

I hear ya blowfish, my wife doesn't like videogames much either. She knows I like them alot so she puts up with it but at times she give me a "you've played alot lately." I try to respect her desire that I not play too much by limiting my time but it doesn't always work.

Haha, I have pictures my then-wife took of me that sitting at the computer with my daughter in one arm and my other hand on the mouse. You've just gotta learn to multi-task.

Tough for me to jump on the bandwagon without a demo. GTA was fun, but the on-foot controls were ATROCIOUS. This is a wait-and-see.

Ha yeah I've been doing that with Monster Hunter 3. Baby sleeping across my lap with my arms holding her and my hands on the wii classic controller pro.

That's the only thing I'm concerned about. I really enjoyed GTA4, but the controls were just a clunky mess. Holding a button to run was one my biggest complaints, along side with poor gunplay.

Hopefully RDR will be better in that regard.

I believe the review embargo was lifted earlier today. I could be wrong though

Edit: Rockstar was apparently refusing review copies to some sites so many didn't get any in time prior to release.
