What is the deal with horses anyway?

I accidentally shot the original horse in the back of the head while hunting coyotes. Oops. So after picking myself up out of the dirt I whistled and another horse with different colors came running. If I have an endless supply of horses to accidentally murder, what is the purpose of the horse deeds for sale at the general store for $500?

Hmm, that's pretty weird. I did notice that sometimes my horse had a blue icon on the map and other times it didn't. I think it was when I whistled for it that it had the icon and otherwise it wouldn't.

The hidden treasure near the Hanging Rock is

right behind the big rock. There is a little spot in between 3 big rocks and the chest is hidden under a bunch of small rocks.

I still have the Stallion that I got from Bonnie. Haven't had it die on me yet, and I'm a fair way into the game (11 hours?).

One thing that I would like to see gone is the little Sold animation everytime you sell something. It makes selling a bunch of items/skins a long and annoying process.

I'm starting to get a bit frusterated with the MP aspects of the game...last night I tried playing some free roam and every time I did it gave me a Network Error message. The first time I got into a game with some friends for maybe 30 seconds, every time after it wouldn't let me in at all, not even into a self started private match...

I'm in Mexico now, been there for a little while. The geography is a good bit different which is pretty cool. Oh, and I got the achievement for roping a girl, dropping her on the tracks, and letting a train run over her. D:

I didn't look around too much (I know it's at Hanging Rock) but is there some visual clue letting you know that it's there? Is the chest in plain sight or do I have to dig for it?

As for the Sold animation at first I thought you had to sell each item one at a time. If you highlight an item though and hit the Right stick up it will increase the amount you sell each time. You may already know that though.

I only got to play for an hour and a half or so, through the first mission with the Marshall. Overall I like it, though there are some things (horses, display for ammo) that are a little different than expected and will take getting used to, just like most of you have said. I can definitely say that I'm excited to have some time this weekend to play again.

Oh, I forgot to sign up for the social club before I started playing. Am I missing out on anything? If I sign up now, will the things I've already accomplished (not much) be included in my stats?

BTW has anyone had their horse stolen? I was just sitting out in the wild and some jerk came along and kicked me off my horse, got on and started riding away and yelled something at me. I ended up shooting him the back and got my horse back though.

This game is damn cool.

Ha the exact same thing happening to me yesterday. I heard a guy screaming so I slowed down, and he knocked me off my horse and stole it. Thought it was pretty neat.

I played multiplayer for two hours last night with a friend and new acquaintance and had a BLAST. It was the most fun I've had in a long, LONG time with a game online. At first we were trying to "create" coop games within our free roam lobby, but all we got were pvp style games. As far as we could tell all of the coop stuff happens during free roam.

Coop was so much fun. We posse'd up and summoned our donkeys (only mount at level 1 unless you steal a horse) and rode off, slowly , towards a bandit camp. We cleared it out and moved on to the next one. That probably doesn't sound as fun as I'm trying to make it sound, but it really is, and I bet it's even better with 10+ players. I got up to level 10 (cap is 50 I believe).

I'm not as good of a writer as warcrow. I'm more of a question answerer...

I played some MP last night also, but no free roam - mostly shoot out or team shoot out. It was fun, and Dead Eye is extremely disgusting in MP, so it's a good thing killing people raises it, or you get the meter refill on the ground.

That's why I dashed home from work, popped it open to see that I had a code, and posted it ASAP. The sooner you get it up for sale the better. Either that or wait like 3 months.

Yea, you had to have sold them right away almost. I sold my first one at $35 tuesday night, and I sold my second one at $18 last night. Not so sure why people were paying so much money for it, it only skinned your original guns gold. Personally I'm glad I sold both of mine... it's made the cost of my game to -$30 (yes, that's a negative)

The first time I did it the train was REALLY far away (like, halfway across the map). I put her on the tracks, turned around to get back on my horse, and when I looked back she had already dissappeared...

The next time it was on one of the missions and I roped her as soon as the mission started and chased down a train. Got a good lead, stopped, dropped her and she was flattened...pretty awful. I don't think I got negative honor for it...but I reloaded my save game nonetheless (almost max good honor ATM).

I keep getting notices that gun shops have new inventory...they never do though. Liars...

My code sold for $41 so I'm good. I got another from Amazon so I probably will just keep it since people are having trouble selling theirs it looks like.

I haven't even been able to play the game though due to lack of free time.. which is odd because normally, I'd have ton. :\

By the way the GUI and menu when you first turn the game on is incredibly bland.

Not really a visual clue... just a bunch of small rocks put together (kinda looks like a burial site, IMO) and a popup to inspect. IIRC, its in the NE corner of hanging rock, behind it).
