Picking mine up at 10am Central time at Gamestop. They called and confirmed that it would be in this morning. Can't wait.

I soooo want this game, but I soooo dont want to spend the money when I've got GH3 sitting next to me.

Looking forward to picking this up on the way home tonight. Gotta pick up the sister-in-law and bring her in for the holiday, but on the way in, we're making an extra stop .

Not getting the huge pack, though, I can't justify spending that much money on a game at once. I will, however, pick up the drums early next year when they are released individually. Just gonna use my wired GH2 guitars.

Seems like every time a music game is released there are tons of defective guitars. I went through 2 with GH2 and I was lucky to get a GH3 guitar that hasn't busted yet.

It must be fucking rocket science to manufacture working fake guitars.

Haha seriously that is what I am thinking.

At least if you have a 360, the GH guitars will work until they send a replacement. If you have a ps3...you are sol.

Rock Band is currently en route to my house, should be there when I get home curteousy of Amazon.

I haven't been this anxious to leave work in a long time - all this over some fake, plastic instruments.

Whatever, Thanksgiving is going to be awesome.

I saw piles of the game in Best Buy and I didn't buy it. I couldn't. $600+ for a 360 + Rock Band is just too much for me to spend on something I'll only be able to play ever few weeks when I'm home.

Just picked up my copy from Gamestop, thanks preorder! 4 more hours till work is done...

Got mine, I'm through the first through tiers on the guitar solo Hard tour. I'm waiting impatiently for people to get home from work so I can start my World Tour.

A few quick observations:

-I don't mind the guitar nearly as much as others were worrying about. The one thing I have taken issue with is something no one mentioned - the weird angle required by the overdrive tilt sensor. I typically play with the frets elevated a bit, but that was never an issue with the GH games, I could always just elevate further and the star power would trigger. With RB, I have to dip my left arm and then raise it back up. I'll get used to it, I just thought I had a defective guitar for a while because I couldn't trigger overdrive for the life of me.

-If you're in the Xbox dashboard and go to the marketplace, there are ~10-15 songs (Metallica, Police, etc.) available for download. I've toyed around inside the Rock Band GUI and I can't find anywhere inside the game that lets you download them. I suppose you can always exit to the marketplace, but it seems like an oversight unless I'm missing something.

-I don't remember ANY song in any GH ever being as fun to play along to as Blitzkrieg Bop. I may need to change my pants the first time we get 4 people going on that one.

I picked up mine at lunch, went home and tried a few songs. I hope my strum bar doesn't break because right now I like the feel of it. Much better than the crap Best Buy demo.

I queued up all of the dlc content so it will be downloaded when I get home. I love all of the songs they had available so I got them all. Someone isn't getting christmas presents lol.

I *just* got back from picking up my copy. I decided to get the PS3 version to dodge the 360 USB hub. Now I've got to figure out how to get another guitar. I kind of forgot that only one guitar was included.

For the 360, it is possible to avoid using the USB hub, provided that one of the guitars you're going to use is the wireless Les Paul OR you have the HD-DVD drive.

The 360 has 3 USB ports on it (one in the back) or if you have the HD-DVD drive you'll have 2 on the Xbox 360 and two more daisy-chained to the HD-DVD drive.

I realize that both methods require you to reach behind your console/HD-DVD drive, but that's less of an issue for me than constantly hooking up a (friggin' AC Powered) USB hub.

So what's the scoop on this. Stopped by CC to check on something else, went by games to see if they have any GH3 ps3 bundles in yet, which they don't, but did see 3 rock bands, all ps3 versions on the floor.

I'd also take Ns1's advice with a grain of salt, as he obviously has an investment in the game becoming a rare commodity.

Regardless, I got my copy waiting for me at home.

Yes that is true I do have an investment in the game. I also only invest because there is going to be a drastic shortage.

Went to Target this morning before they opened. There were 10 of us in line for ROCKBAND and they only had 16 for XBOX360 - by the time I left they were sold out already.

The target I went to had 8 copies total that I saw. Was down to 2 when I left. TRU had 6 that I saw, and me and the other guy who waited (an employee of EA no less) picked up 2/6

Good luck finding one... I went in first thing at 7:00AM (bus. membership) They only had 10... I bought 2. I called back at noon and they said some other guy came in after I did and bought the rest of them.

Been playing mine. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get the microphone working. But finally realized I needed to use the controller. Secondly, I have yet to be give an guitar solo. How the hell do you get one? I've gotten plenty of drum solos, however.

Best Buy had a buttload of them this afternoon for the 360. I would estimate they had 40 or so. Also had a ton of GHIII. This is in Katy, TX.

So I got the game home tonight and have a couple of things I don't like about it. For one, the notes are too narrow and don't have quite as large of a surface to register a strum....I guess I'll get used to this over what I'm used to in GH. Second, I don't hear any stray dings and scratches when I miss a note like in GH, and that sucks. Plenty of times I will miss a note and not even know it, making me have to look at what multiplier I'm at before using star power (or whatever RB calls it).

The biggest issue I have right now, though, is the tracks sound like they are skipping during the song, and it sucks. At one point during Bloom, the sound cut out for a good 2 seconds while I was still hitting notes, then came back in (the worst of all occurrences). I think this may have started after I enabled Dolby Digital in the options, I'll test it out later when I have time. I didn't really notice any skipping the first 2 songs I played, but started noticing it after finding enabling the DD option.

I do like the character creation, though. MUCH better way to do a game like this rather than GH's set characters. There isn't many options here, though, I'm sure that'll be corrected for RB2 next year. So far, I'm kinda meh on this title. It definitely feels much easier than GH, but I've only played songs on the first 2 sets, so we'll see. I actually like it easier, as I became accustomed to GH2 difficulty. GH3 is much harder, and RB feels to lean backwards towards my skill level. Good for me, sucks for the hardcore crowd.
