CONFIRMED. Yea, that is definitely a sweet feature with RB that should have been a no-brainer. I guess the developers (Harmonix with GH2, included) thought that having the achievements separate would mean more hours of gameplay. But playing on easy and medium is an exercise in mind-numbing torture for someone who can handle hard and expert.

I picked up the drum set last night, and played a little bit with the wife. These things are fucking loud as hell. I understand they probably need to be broken in a bit, but has anybody ordered the felt pads from drumshhh.com? If so, how are they?

If you can, I recommend doing it yourself - go to AC Moore or similar craft store and buy 4 self-adhesive foam pads (one red, one blue, one green, and one yellow), and 4 sheets of self-adhesive black felt. I found a multi-pack of foam pads for $4 there that had 6 different colors - I used the white/black ones to practice.
I made circular cutouts in Photoshop with the proper dimensions - I think it's like 6" or so and then a 1/4" smaller for the inner one.
Cut the foam pads to fit exactly in each drum, and then the felt 1/4" smaller in diameter - it leaves a nice colored ring and black center. I've got nothing but compliments for my mod - and I think the black felt looks much better than the gray plastic.
You can also buy one of those $10 circle cutters to make your life a lot easier, but I just used scissors because this wasn't something I wanted to spend $20 on.

I'd like to see a picture of your work. Sounds interesting.

I've not seen any kind of delay on my end either. Using a Harmon Kardon AV435 (I think?) receiver, it was near top of the line a couple of years ago, so it had better be able to decode a signal quickly .
