here there are some performance leaks about 5600X (follow the discussion)

Viewing the date on the cpu it looks like it's pretty fresh. Late Sept early Oct. It was probably still warm when he took it out of the box.

Latency looks too low to be believable with those timings. I guess one can hope it's true, but I'll believe it when I see it from the reviews.

Interesting that AMD used the 5900X to benchmark their new graphics cards, rather than 5950X, and has referred to 5900X as "world's best gaming CPU".
Still waiting on reviews to finalize decision between 5800X and 5900X for my new build gaming rig. (Likely combining with RX6800XT, also pending reviews, as first all-AMD build ever for me).

Probably because it is a single die. No die to die latency.

i just want to see a game benchmark. we all know zen2 could beat intel at everything but games so why do we need to see everything but game benchmarks?

A shame SiSoftware still didn't uploaded the images with the memory benchmarks to their servers. I looked but they're not there yet, there's just the 5600x and 5800x CPU benches yet.

I'm just amazed at how badly Intel has dropped the ball in the last five years. Staggering incompetence. Their 10nm is the Duke Nukem Forever of tech.

Yeah no kidding. As I've stated numerous times, if Intel had executed properly with their 10nm node, they would now be progressing to 7nm and the whole "ARM is taking over" mantra would never have propagated.

That said, even though I haven't owned an AMD CPU in many years (not since the Athlon 64 days), I have seemingly found renewed faith in AMD's ingenuity. Zen 2 was fairly impressive to me, but it more or less allowed AMD to achieve parity with Intel. Zen 3 on the other hand is on a whole other level if the leaked benchmarks and rumors are accurate! A 19% general IPC increase, and an almost 50% improvement in FP/SIMD throughput on the same node and TDP, plus a slight bump in clock speed is downright wicked!

But that's the kind of viciousness AMD will need if they want to play with the big dogs. They have to be ruthless, and not just against Intel but Nvidia/ARM as well. If they get another 20% or so improvement with Zen 4 while maintaining the high clock speeds, it's going to be a monstrosity!

Intel's management is incredibly arrogant they believe their rightful place is to always be at the top they see themselves as THE CPU company. Long term I see it as a good thing Intel being knocked down a few pegs their management culture needs a house cleaning.

For example Intel openly mocking AMD's chiplet strategy shows how stupid their management really is, instead they should have looked at it and thought, wait we have run into a process wall what AMD is doing makes sense.

Could it be possible that the next year will bring just completing whole desktop processor lineup to 5000 series?

They really don't need to hurry. 10nm is still a problem at Intel, 7nn seems equally dubious. As long as Zen 4 arrives in the 15 - 18 month window AMD should be more than okay. As long as they don't go into stasis while in the lead haha.

Oh I know. Intel is not doing very well. It's unclear if Intel can get Alder Lake out in any form before Q4 2021, or in what volumes. Intel still hasn't demonstrated that they can ship enough 10nm chips to replace their entire 14nm fleet. That gives AMD carte blanche to sell Zen3 as long as they like, at pretty much any price they like. Releasing Zen4 on top of 0 meaningful updates from Intel would be the knife to the jugular, though.

@Kocicak

I'm still guessing January 2021 for the rest of Vermeer desktop (5600 etc). Cezanne et al is still an unknown. If enough OEMs are begging for this chip update, maybe March?

Now imagine what it would be like if AMD could get Zen4 out at about this time next year.

I know this is about Zen 3 but… is there any word/rumor on Zen 4? It's a new/competitive design like Zen 3 or evolutionary from it?
No doubt they'll release soon, just I'm not sure if another 20% is happening this close.

Zen 2 and older would become way too depreciated, literally sold for nothing then, Zen 3 too... old tech in a year? They can't push too much on that front: designing chips has a price that must be payed back, same for dices (look how they reused the interconnect one).
