Here's a modded 1.3L that gives back all the memory settings that Soltek sent to some people including Naruto it would seem Soltek tweaked bios

Thx for the bios, but I already got the the original overclocking bios. BTW, do you know what the modified one has over the original?

Good luck with the build KILLA Hopefully the Soltek will work as well for you as they do for me!

Naruto, The modded 1.3L is said to be very stable and provides all the memory adjustments that were missing from the original version.

I've seen quite a few users have great luck with the HyperX series on the FRN2, but the one thing to keep in mind is that dual channel on most any NF2 board can make 2 perfectly good sticks seem flakey so there's no guarantee when using them that way but I don't think you'll have any trouble.

It has been a while since I last posted about my MRN board based system. I was having BSOD problems while overclocking past FSB133 with a 2100xp chip. I thought it was cooling problems and many different solutions including a new HS and CPU fan, case fans, and southbridge HS. Still had problems and then changed to a Barton 2500, but the system still crashed running at FSB 166. Yesterday, I borrowed a Kingston 512mb DDR2700 memory chip and voila the BSOD problems totally disappeared. Aside from tossing aside my defective Samsung 512 mb DDR2700 memory chip, what recommendations do you have as to memory sticks. I have seen ads for specific dual memory channel sets with coordinated controllers. Does this really help or will two sticks of the same memory work just as well? Thanks again for your help.

I've used Corsair VS (spectech 2700), Mushkin 3200 black series, Apacer 3200 (Samsung chips), and Crucial 2700 all in DC-DDR and all worked smooth and stablily so I don't think spending extra for sticks certified for DC use is necessary.

I took your advice and got two chips of the Crucial 2700 512 with a $25 coupon from myhpclub. Hope this works and let the real OCing begin. Thanks again.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. The 7500 will work fine, I did have a little trouble with ATI cards in mine but it was resolved by disabling fast writes and 8x AGP support in the bios, and enabling video ram caching.

Make us proud KILLA! Watch that flakey bios though as it'll spoil the party quick if you don't baby it on the journey to high FSB.

BTW, very happy to hear your little man is doing great! :sun:

The AGP/PCI is indeed automatic. If you aren't using the CPGeek bios with vdd adjustments then 211fsb is out of range most likely. They just released a new 1.5 bios that gives fsb adjustment up to 250mhz but CPGeek hasn't modded it for vdd adjustment yet since he nuked his board. Anywho, have fun

thank god for the insert key,LoL, i don t think this is gonna be a high clocker

its a quick system but boy is this bios touchy, 11.5 is a no go on the multi

and 180fsb gave an almost corrupted HD, i think i can go higher once i get into it

again i haven t touched the voltage , still all default, what are the ceilings on the voltages

and what timings are you running

its gonna be a long night

You can go 1.85v CPU
2.8v RAM
1.8v vdd chipset voltage (CPGeek bios)

I love the Golden Flame series but the bios is definitely the weak link.

As to timings I use 3-3-3-6 with my Apacer 3200DDR as it's defaults are 3-3-3-7 and it doesn't like tight timings. It does however hit 440+DDR in my P4PE/L. Besides the diffference in performance tighter timings make is almost negligible in many real world tasks.

I would try dropping the multiplier and shooting for higher FSB but without vdd adjustments 180-190 is about where the 75FRN tops out.

New Soltek SL-75-MRN-L Review here .

For $94 retail off MISR's website, the Soltek SL75-MRN-L is an excellent value for the money. We hardly look at value motherboards on this site. However, Soltek has brought a heck of a lot to the table with this motherboard especially for integrated video. No other current integrated solution comes close to the performance of the nForce2.

Ok guys, I hope you can help me with this problem, because no one has so far. First off, here are my specs:
Soltek SL-75FRN-L
2x512 PC2700 Samsung
Athlon XP 2400+
Radeon 9700 Pro 128
SB Audigy 2
Antec 430 Watt TruePower

Well, here is the problem. Whenever I run 166 fsb(no matter what multiplyer) and I unplug the power cable from my case(for lans or just to move the pc) the bios will not load. It will just sit there and my monitor will self test. The only way I can get it back is by clearing the cmos through the jumper and than I have to reset all the setting over agian. This problem does not happen at 133/100 mhz fsb. Only seems to be at 166. I have not tried any other FSB settings between 133-166 or above 166 cuz im sick of resetting that damn jumper. So, do you guys think this is a psu problem? I dont think it is because I can run 166 fine as long as I dont unplug the power coard totally from the pc. I thought it might be the cpu vcore but than why would it run stable without removing the power coard. I get no errors in prime95 so Im really stumped here, have any suggestions?
