Excaliber PC raised their price to $95 shipped so I jumped on the board from Googlegear for $89 shipped ...which has lowered another $2
since this morning making it $87 shipped...I dont see how Soltek is making a cent on these boards.

LOOKs like the 1.85v isn't going to cut it@that clockspeed so I'm backing it down x11 to see if that resolves the GROMACS instability.

After reinstalling Windows everything is back to normal , I am not sure what happened ..probably too much tweaking I have been
in my BIOS tweaking at least 50 times by now.

I love mine so much that I am getting another , I have a SL-75FRN2-L on the way.

I felt the same way about my DRV-4.. best board I've ever used that's for sure.
it's a fanstastic board.. I cant say enough good about that board. I'm a true Soltek fan.

Reason I ask is because I am curious what all you will be comparing your Mushkin to.
My Mushkin is almost certainly going to be returned , I am considering some of that
Winbond stuff from PalmPC.

I'm using the Apacer 3200 CL3 w/Samsung TCC4 chips@the moment@3-3-3-6 because it won't run 2.5 like it will in my P4PE/L :frown: i'm hopin' the Mushkin gets here today so I can try it out in both boards if needed. BTW, I've been hearing that palmPC ram is great as well, especially for the money.

I got my FRN2 , both the NB and SB are seen as Rev. C1 according to WCPUID.

The VDD adjustment is built into this bios(1.6-1.8v) and the FSB is adjustable to 250mhz in 1mhz steppings.

There was literally 1 drop of heatsink compound on the new board, i strongly suggest you take care of this before installing
the board, especially if you got it from Googlegears recent batch.


My first boot went fine, I just swapped out the boards and reinstalled a few things. I started out at 166synced
I am up to 200fsb synced right now and its running good. Next comes 210 then 215 then 220 ..I got some work to do.

After P95TT and memtest86 I thought it was good to go at the last posted settings@1.85v but a GROMACS WU blew it up so I had to wait for another GROMACS to test these settings to be positive it's a rock and this is the final settings I'm going to stick with on this board.

Well I boxed it up and have the old one installed , its a shame too because it never crashed at any speed, I had it running as high as 210mhz synced before it flaked out on me, it was flaky from the get-go but it ran anything I could manage to boot up at...... Read more about it HERE.
I could definately see that the new revision chips have more potential with this board and I am looking forward to getting another.
My other board is running nicely at 200mhz synced , its a keeper.

Glad you got the original going so great though! 2.4ghz stable is most impressive! You must run@GROMAC core before knowing beyond all doubt though
