I wish! I didn't even get a lousy T-shirt

Are they giving case badges yet? I want one.

No case badge either I really wanted a gold Soltek badge on there too! I'm stuck using the Silver MSI G3 ti200 badge I have instead :disgust: Good thing this vid card has ruled for me enough so to let MSI be on my case 'cause I have no love for their mobo's after the debacle I've been through with them.

This Mushkin is disappointing for the money won't even post@443DDR in my P4PE not even@the same relaxed timings my cheapo Apacer would at that speed, won't boot@stock speed with 2-2-2 timings and the best it seems to want run right now is 418DDR 2-3-3-5. Still exceeding it's specs just not the overclocking monster I was hoping for. It'll go back to Best Buy tommorrow and I'll use the cash towards a new vid card

I returned my ram today. put that cash towards a Radeon 9800 Pro, mine will be here Wednesday, I sure hope it gets along with
my Soltek.

Thats odd because I got a silver blue and green case badge with my first 75FRN but not the second one.
I put it on my new black Antec SX1040II

Good deal! After reading your reply I went and scoured the contents of the box (wifey stole the bag ) I found it perfectly up against the side wall white on white so I must not have noticed it before. Case Badge now my Boxen is complete since I added the heatsink to the SB which is transfering heat very well judging by the sink being very warm.

Glad you got the original going so great though! 2.4ghz stable is most impressive! You must run@GROMAC core before knowing beyond all doubt though

No its not as stable as I would like it at that level but so far the only thing that can shoot it down is Prime95 and that takes awhile.

For max stability I am liking these settings and they are not far off in performance:

It should be nuke proof where you have it now, nice compromise on the overclock vs stability too.

I just hope there is a gold rush! Despite all the sites that have picked the FRN/FRN2 Editor's choice and other awards all the post I read say "Should I get the 8RDA or 8RDA+
Looks like you and I may not see many claim jumpers after our gold! OK I'll stop with the Gold analogies now

Sticky? We don't need no stinkin' sticky! Seriously, there just aren't nearly enough posts about this board by users to warrant an Official thread. To me it indicates one of 2 things....1. it's not popular enough yet and most users post on the other boards we hang at on top of that, or.....2. It's a great, stable board with fewer issues than most and you know most only post when they need help with a problem

I've never been an overclocker but this board makes it easy. I just started with 166 x 9.5 on my XP1700 tbred A. The Soltek mobo moniters reads a cool 38c 1577mhz is fine. Guess i'll push it a little more tomorrow. I have a stick of Corsair XMS 2700 along with an ENERMAX EG365P-VE 350W Power supply tomorrow. I'll start tinkering a little more. So far this is a solid board out of the box!

Excellent Bojax Could you check WCPUID or Cpu-z to see what revision chipset you got? Here's mine

Hi..

its been a while since my last post in this forum...

anyway..

i'll be getting my Soltek 75FRN-L this weekend.. together with an AMD 2400+

the RAM of choice is 512MB GEIL PC2700 but this is only rated CL 2.5.. bummer me... hmmmm

anyway.... just wondering ..how far does the 2400+ be able to be overclocked ?

the HSF of choice will be the Thermaltake volcano 7+

any thought or suggestion for me....

thanks

kuman

ahh sorry to hear that.. just last night I was thinking how fantastic my MSI K7T Turbo has been. with the Soltek, those are definitely the 2 best boards I've ever owned.. this EPoX I have now is pretty sweet too.. I wonder if I'll turn out to like this one as much as those others..

Welp my boards on order and 2-256 KINGSTON HyperX Series 184-pin 256MB DDR370 (PC3000) DDR RAM modules, Model# KHX3000/256. I still cant believe Im going with a Solteck board and on top of it KINGSTON Memory!?!?!
Never knew either one would show good benchmarks and great O/Cing!

Hope to get eveything by the weekend and start building.

Looks a nice setup you are going to put together Kuman. I'm not real famailiar with results to expect from the 2400+ but I suspect you should be able to get it to at least 2800+-3000+ speeds. I looked at the Volcano7+ and while I'm not personally big on the volcano series it looks as though with the fan turned up it'll handle your cooling needs adequately. I've been hearing the GEIL is good stuff and the difference between CL2.5 and 2 is according to Crucial's FAQs
CAS latency 2 parts process data a little quicker than CAS latency 2.5 parts in that you have to wait a half clock cycle less for the initial data. However, after the first piece of data is processed, the rest of the data is processed at equal speeds. Latency only affects the initial burst of data. Once data starts flowing, there is no effect.Bear in mind, a clock cycle for a system properly using a PC2100 DDR module is 8 nanoseconds, so the difference between CAS latency 2 and CAS latency 2.5 for PC2100 parts is 4 billionths of a second. You probably won't be able to notice the difference.
I truly think to mush is made of timings around here and that the performance difference in the real world isn't substantial enough to warrant the price/performance difference, again IMO. Be sure to post back with some results or any questions you might have concerning the Golden Flame
