Yep, that's the one for the FRN2 the 1.3L is the newest for the FRN, do you know which one they're sending you? Anyways the newest bios will be on it already i'm fairly certain as it was on mine weeks ago. You ordered from da egg and they just got a new shippment so you should have the A1/C1 chipset as well.

It means you have the latest chipset revision from nvidia and it's more capable of high fsb speeds at lower vdd voltage making it barton 400fsb ready. You are a lucky dog! I may have to grab one of those.....

Ok gents,

Help a fellow Soltek brother out here who is new to overclocking. Right now I can only get as high as 10 x 170fsb with my new corsair xms 2700. By default my cpu is at 1.5v. What is the benifit of increasing the core voltage? What is next to raise the fsb? I'm still at 38c so i'm not too concerned about heat.

Don't be afraid to increase the memory voltage because you are already running it past spec. If it doesn't want to play nice at higher FSB speeds leave it be and use the vcore upto 1.8v-1.85v and higher multipliers to find the top speed for that CPU. Did you pick 100% for the memory frequency to stay in synch?

Well, I upped the cpu voltage to 1.675 and relaxed the ram settings. Right now i'm running at 185x10. Running prime95, no errors yet. Ran 3dmark2001 without problems. 52c is the temp with prime running.

Sweet! BTW, Run the prime and 3Dmark together at the same time to help stress the whole system harder.

hi guys, your quite right about this being a sweet board. I am not really into over clocking but I did try out the board, i was able to get my XP2100+ to run unstable at 2109mhz. It does run very stable at 2070mhz though. It is also obvious that this board will easily handle the 400mhz chips when they arrive.

Welcome mechtiger Good to have another Golden Flame owner join in! Do you have the 2100+ T-bred A or B? 2.07ghz is still a nice overclock regardless, what CPU voltage are you using?

Nice! If the time comes when you feel you can use more speed I see several hundred more MHZ waiting for you :sun:

OK I broke down my old Epox 8Kha+ last night. My new Soltek and Kingston 2-256 HpyerX 3000 shows to arrive today. As I think of questions Im going to stop in and ask them.

First since Im using two sticks do I use the two yellow DDR Slots for Dual Channel Memory support?

Next beside the ATX power conector theres a 4-pin socket beside the 20-pin one? The added voltage is for stability it says. Is this really needed or help? I have a Antec 430 True Watt P/S.

Thanks!

Those of you wondering about the Soltek HW monitor, there is a newer version available on Soltek's website that correctly displays the ABS II temp.

Where can I get this CPGeek edition BIOS?

Hey BuckMaster! Glad to hear your stuff will be in today. OK, definitely use the 4pin P4 style 12v connector it's a must! I have that TP430 in my P4 system and it's a jewel and provides a good strong 12v rail on my P4PE/L which also uses the 2 phase power stepping like our Soltek though different in the design of course.

Review ofSL-75FRN-R

I thought it was a good review but I didn't see him mention the bios version in use and I wasn't aware that the Barton's mulitplier wasn't unlocked with the 1.3L if that's indeed the case and he wasn't using the 1.2??? Anyways it still got a Editor's choice award for value buy :sun: The Soltek FRN series is winning awards everywhere! Not to mention the vdd adjustments and T-bred Bs run like a scolded dog on this board

No problemo Good to have another owner onboard  It will help to up the vdd if that's the source of the trouble but if it's the ram or the CPU causing the problems at least you'll have eliminated one potential culprit.

hey wussup everyone, i'm liking the thread everyone keep it up. My first mod on this board was 2 swap out the northbridge heatsink and replaced it with a zalman chipset cooler it doesn't come with a fan so i got the sanyo 40mm tornado. the board was able to hit 200 fsb with the stock cooling assembly but you know it doesn't hurt 2 get more cooling. I put wire sleaves on the powersupply's wires. and i used the old nb heatsink on the southbridge with no fan on it. today i got my athlon xp 1700 and with default voltage i was able to hit 200X11. Tomorrow i should be getting my antec aluminum silver dragon soho case and matching keyboard, and on friday i will be getting my geil dual channel kit. Oh yea the ram im using now to run at 200 fsb is crucial pc133 that i've had for about a year and a half. the only problem i have encountered is that i cannot go above 12.5 in the multiplier not even at 133 fsb i had to clear the cmos. is there anyway to fix this without cutting the L3 bridge??

Hey crzyricn, That's a kicka$$ rig your building Nice mods and FSB overclock too! I think you'll have to mod the chip for the higher multis. Have fun and mod away then post back with results

Just wanted to stop in and give an update. Installed my new Soltek SL-75FRN-L/75FRN2-L Golden Flame, Kingston Hyper-X 3000 and XP 2100 "B" last night.

Reinstalled Windows XP with SP1. Installed the 2-1 drivers from the CD but didnt run the AWI IDE Drivers I think its called. From there installed DX9 and my ATI Video drivers.

Running Stock right now Aggressive memory Speeds. Seems to be runnning really good and stable. After I install more apps and make sure it stable I'll see what she can do!

I think that 2100+ you have is going to be a good overclocker BuckMaster, lookin' forward to seeing what it does.

I returned the Mushkin 3200DDR and I think I'm going to get a 9500pro with the money....
