This movie is proof that actin talent and Hollywood Success have no correlation.

Tobey McGuires whole acting shitck is just to sit there looking at the camera like a deer in headlights.
Kirsten Dunst is just hopeless. The movie was too long, and cheesy as hell. Those of you saying this was the best movie ever are probably 15 years old.

i'm 30 and thought it was great! a little cheesy but better than the first one.

I loved the elevator scene..."it's itchy and kinda rides up in the crotch.." priceless!

actually, i think kirsten dunst is a great actor.

just saw it...had high expectations. I liked the first one (was ok), but this movie was:

extremely corny and cheesy and the plot was VERY stupid...

the special fx were ok, but this was about it...sorry...

Nowhere can you see that the people just barely escaped death, and, yes, the train was still on the edge about to tip over too

How could you say this one was cornier than the first one? C'mon, that whole wrestling scene in the first one was incredibly corny, as was the fight scene in the school. Those two scenes alone ruined the first movie for me.

What do you people consider to be good movies if you disliked this movie that much? I'm just curious, because I find it odd that some people think SM2 sucked. Are you a fan of the comics?

As for what will happen in the 3rd film. Here's my idea:

The Green Goblin will return (I know, one of the worst Spidey villains), but also there will be another villain with him. The guy who Mary Jane was going to marry (J Jonah Jameson's son) will become a villain bent on getting revenge for losing her. I think I'm wrong in this, but will he maybe become Rhino? I don't know, I was thinking that in the comics that Jameson's son turned into a villain. Anybody know?

IMO, the greatest comic book movies ever made were the first and second Batman movies (with Keaton).

I think the villians (yes, villians) for the next one will be The New Green Goblin and the Lizard Man. I don't think having the green goblin again will be enough to hold a fan base. Then by the time the third one is over, the franchise will start to die down and Sam will have to do something to attract a huge crowd again. This is where they bring in Venom and the cg (2010) to make him look cool.

God people stop saying the first and second Batman's are the best superhero movies ever. I used to think so when they came out, hell I was judging them against Superman. I tried to rewatch the first Batman semi-recently and God it sucked ass.

yea i think the batmans sucked too. keaton was fine as batman, but a little stiff in my opinion. nicholson was good. the whole artsy thing turned me off.

i thought spiderman 2 was good, very good. doc oc was awesome. the movie was long though. it was a spirited movie, probably the best comic book movie I've seen. ithe only other rival films IMO are the xmen flicks. the difference is that the xmen films have a 'cool' factor. the spiderman films have an 'anticool' factor that just seems so refreshing.

yeah i think the hobgoblin was a merc or something (i have almost all the spiderman books but been a while since i read them).

harry comes back as the green goblin.

i just hope he is NOT the only villin in the movie this time. It would be spiderman 1 all over again. hmm maybe Venom or Carnage! now that would be fun but probably a little more violent then they want.


Oh why did they kill off doc oc? he has such history with spiderman i hate to see him end. plus the guy playing him was awesome.

I think someone suggested that it would be GG II and the Lizard, which makes sense.

But the first one already had Brock in it. Yeah it would take Most of the movie to explain how he got the suit (IF they stay with the comic story line).

the GG II and the lizard would suck. there are soo much better people he can face

JJJ just mentioned him in it. yelling at him to get some pictures or whatever. I missed it the first time i seen the movie. But someone else mentioned it and i watched it again and noticed.

Again, the film was very faithful both in direction and writing to the Spider-Man saga and had a very comic book feel to it.

Raimi did this movie for the fans, despite the small backlash he probably knew would come. Yes, it was cheesy, but that was intentional. It was fitting considering the context.

What do you people really expect? This is a story based off a comic book. Total realism wouldn't have worked.

Unfortunately, you've missed the point.

(I loved the homage to Evil Dead he threw in there; the scene where Doc Ock is in surgery.)
