What do you people consider to be good movies if you disliked this movie that much? I'm just curious, because I find it odd that some people think SM2 sucked. Are you a fan of the comics?

As for what will happen in the 3rd film. Here's my idea:

The Green Goblin will return (I know, one of the worst Spidey villains), but also there will be another villain with him. The guy who Mary Jane was going to marry (J Jonah Jameson's son) will become a villain bent on getting revenge for losing her. I think I'm wrong in this, but will he maybe become Rhino? I don't know, I was thinking that in the comics that Jameson's son turned into a villain. Anybody know?

sorry to say but it is rare for everyone to agree in something, extremly rare,

if i seen the cartoon series never looked much at the comic i think you are right about the MJ's ex boyfriend and i think Henry Osbourne will have a purple outfit not green although he found his fathers goblin accesories at the end...

for a sec i thought the shy girl who gave Peter the milk and cookies where about to f*ck or something sorry i have to ge my mind out of the gutter

Where is Eddie Brock mentioned in the first spiderman? I've been searching through it and can't find him...

Two things that I feel really cheesy:
1. What happened to the people in the train that saw Peter Parker as Spiderman? Are they really going to keep his secret??? Even they said they will keep his secret, I just don't buy it. Anybody know if that was based on the comics?

2. Spidey supposed to be very powerful, how come his punch/kick felt nothing on Doc Ock who has no power other than his mechanical arms.

In response to #2...that's thing's I've asked about in the comics as well because Spidey has often punched regular Joe type villains. You'd think he'd take off someone's head seeing's that he's listed as being able to lift~15 tons (from the Marvel A-Z Handbooks). Shrug.... Great movie though.

If he made the web himself at home in the first movie, how could he run out of it in the second movie due to his lack of confidence (or general lack of mental strenght). As long as his "web cardridges" are filled, he should be able to shoot them.
wow. did you even watch the movie? he doesn't use catridges (a change from the comics) but now just shoots the web from his forearms.

he lost the ability to do so because he was questioning if he really wanted to persue being spiderman.

i watched the first one when it came out, so maybe I forgot what happened.

But I thought the web shooting ability was external to his body. So your saying its internal to his body now.

And the only thing I didn't like in the movie, was how he could lose his ability due to his confidence or whatever. I would have thought that he would always have his powers regardless of what would happen.
it has been the same in the first spiderman movie and now the second one, the webbing comes from his forearms, he doesn't make canisters.

it isn't due to his lack of confidence, it is due to the lack of him knowing he wants to have the powers (that is: wants to be spiderman).

remember the scene with the doctor? the doctor said it was a choice, and he could choose not to have the powers.
yeah i understood that. I just can't wrap my head around the concept that you can choose to have the powers. Once you get it, you get it. You can't lose it or choose not to have it. You can choose not to USE it..but not to HAVE it. That's my thinking anyway.

OK, I hate spelling things out but think of guys with performance anxiety. They're so concerned about something or the other that a natural (physical, instinctual thing) just doesn't happen and they can't get it up... With therapy or meds they can... Get it???

The best part of the movie was:

"Spiderman, Spiderman,
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web, any size,
Catches thieves just like flies
Look Out! Here comes the Spiderman."

I could tell who was my age in the showing by who was laughing their asses off and who wasn't. The kids didn't get it.

Michael

ps - DC and Marvel have crossed over at least once in a major way - Secret Wars, I think, something like that - and in limited editions in other ways.

QUESTION:

In the scene were Peter Parker and Mary Jane are in the cafe together, how the heck does he know a car is flying at them when he supposedly lost his spider powers?

And I'm assuming all of his powers were gone since he wasn't even able to see without his glasses at that time.

hasnt this been mentioned in the thread already? its because this is the time when he tells MJ they cant be together. reason being, he's accepting the fact that he's going to be spiderman

I thought the movie was great. It was just as good as the first one but I can't really say it's better. The reason being that the cool factor of him webbing from building to building just isn't there this time around because I already saw it before.

Now, stop trying to dissect this movie because it's pointless.

And I agree with the above poster about the Spiderman song. That was awesome. Unfortunately I was in a theater with a bunch of young people so there were maybe 5 of us who actually found it funny.

Has superman and spidey ever met?

superman is dc. spiderman is marvel. don't believe so.

reason I ask is because in the 1st movie, when peter was in the hospital with his aunt, she said "you're not superman you know. stop trying to do everything"

That is why I asked if spidey and superman ever met....would be cool

I am pretty sure there was a special crossover comic produced by Marvel that included Superman. I think it came out in the early to mid 80's.

DC and Marvel have done this a few times in their history. The other time I remember was a crossover with the New Mutants and the Teen Titans.
