There are so many villans that can be introduced:

Dr. Connors = Lizard
John Jameson =Man-wolf
Harry Osborn = Green Goblin 2
or possibly an introduction of the Hobgoblin

Personally I'd like to see Man-wolf return from space with Venom in the ship. That way in Spidey 3 he can fight Man-wolf and set up Venom for Spidey 4

Also I'd like to see the Rhino. Scorpion, Mysterio & Electro............. maybe the Sinster Six will appear

Cheers,
Aquaman

Don't forget about Vulture, Sandman, or Molten Man!! Yes it would be cool if GG (Harry) teamed up with one of the other two to fight Spidey.

Honestly, I don't know how they will outdo this movie. Half of the movie was spent trying to catch MJ, and now that he's got her, what will replace all of the sappy stuff for the chicks? Aunt May dating Doc Ock, who comes back from the dead? Harry coming over to Peter's apt, and Peter is gone, but then Harry sees the skinny landlord's daughter and they start a relationship? I can't see how #3 will keep the chicks happy, hmmmmm....

Okay, Bruce Campbell is the wrestling announcer and the usher... Am I living under a rock or something? Who is this guy and why is he getting these cameos? What's the inside joke?

Just a guess here. Sam Raimi, director of both Spiderman movies, was the director of Evil Dead 1, 2 and 3 which starred Bruce Campbell. Both of them go way back together and Campbell may have asked for a cameo in each.

Didnt you see the cartoons. They made the venom sybiote come from space. It came down with JJJ's son on a mission in space.

Bruce Campbell has a cameo in every Sam Raimi movie except for The Quick and the Dead. They were high school friends. I don't think Bruce asked so much as Sam offered.

No, I don't watch the cartoon. All my info is based off the comic. I was just wondering what parts they'd cut out to make it work including the suit's relationship with spidey. Was that part coverd in the cartoon as well? if so, can someone give me a synopsis of how this condensed version went?

Just wondering something that isn't likely...

But is there some place (possibly online) where comic books are available for reading? As a youth (in the 90s) I didn't have the resources to get all the comics, and a lot of storylines had been done decades ago. I pieced together what I could from the comics I read, the comic book cards I collected, and the cartoons I watched. It'd be nice if I could read the comics in their uh.. unabridged versions. Is there any way I could read them without buying every single one?

BTW KevinH,

In the cartoons, JJJ's son came back and the shuttle crashed or something. Spidey came to save the day but got the symbiote all over him (it seemed like tar or oil). He didn't think much of it. The symbiote never really "talked" to him (at least I don't remember it happening). In a dream Spidey had, the black suit was fighting the red-blue suit over a miniature Pete (or the suits were huge and Pete was normal-sized). The black suit one and "ate" Pete and that's when he woke up, hanging from a skyscraper in the black suit.

To get rid of the suit, Pete realized that he couldn't get it off by just pulling it off, so after realizing his attitude was changing and the symbiote's weakess was to sonics, he went to a bell tower and the ringing bell scared the suit off, where it found a hanging Eddie Brock (for reasons I don't remember).

Aaah, so no Secret Wars, no Reeds Richards helping taking off suit yadda yadda. Yep, the cartoon version would definitely translate into a 2 hours movie. I could see this working...

Saw the movie. I liked it. My bro tought it was 'crap' but my other mate thought it was good also.

Stan Lee! Did you guys not notice he got a cameo? No one has mentioned it so I thought I might as well.

I actually missed it but my friend picked up on it. I thought that guy looked familar though.

He was the guy when the Spidey and Dr Oct are fighting on that clock tower. Where Spidey sling shots the hour hand or minute hand back at Oct and the bricks come down. Or was it a bit sooner then that? Well the bricks fall down and Stan Lee is the old guy that moves a person away. Thought that was cool.

I have watched all or near enough all of the cartoon series . The old in the 90's and the old skool one also. The 90's one was SWEET. Loved all the storylines in that.

Venom comes when the space ship crash's with JJJ son on board. Rhino guy or whatever he is comes and so does Spidey. Bit of a bust up. Also it was on a suspension bridge I think.

Seeing Venom on screen would be SWEET.

I personally hope the series goes on for a long time like the James Bond series. I want to see all the story lines that I watched in the cartoon on the big screen

I saw it this week end and I'm glad that I waited to read this thread after I saw it. I thought it was a good movie despite that fact that I had to take my kids to the bathroom twice. How did his aunt react when he told her that he was responsible for his uncle?s death, missed that part?

We just opened a Theatre style seating the day Spidey2 was released. Seen it that weekend. Movie rocks. Spidey is my favorite hero and both movies are awesome. Seeing it in this new theatre was a major plus.

I saw that! I also found it funny that his cameo had him doing the exact thing he did in the first movie: moving someone out of the way of falling debris. It would be hilarious if they made that a running joke

I tried watching the 90's series, but the animation was HORRIBLE (I swear it was drawn at like 10 FPS or something), and the overly dramatic stories lines tended to make me sick. My son has some of the episodes on DVD. There was an episode where he teamed up with Daredevil, and we laugh because Peter Parker- no less than 3 times in a 20 minute episode- says "I can't save the women I love...." How corny! And everytime someone new comes on the series, they always tell their life story to complete strangers in the form of a flashback. "Hello....I'm the Kingpin, the most powerful crimeboss in the world. Nobody knows who I really am---Back when I was a kid, my father...<fade to flashback>." They would then do this 2 or three times an episode. Ugh! Unwatchable.

The best animated spidey series turned out to be the one on MTV. Very interesting animation, cool mature story lines- it was well done all around. For some reason they kept jerking the time slots around. Is that show still on? It was really well done and I hope it continues. If they cancel it I hope Cartoon Network picks it up.

Sinister Six would be too much for one villian. They've only introduced Doc Ock. The other Sinister Six have gotten prime spotlight as villians, also.

90's cartoon was alright, though the voice-acting was bad during the Symbiote saga. Try to find the episode when he had the black costume and was chasing after Shocker to the bell tower. Sounds constipated.

I doubt they'll have Venom. I forsee a mix between Green Goblin II and The Lizard since they've been formerly introduced.

The movies need more minor villians, though. I've always liked Shocker since he's just a lackey but fairly powerful.

I don't think the 'constipated' sound was because of bad voice acting. The whole point behind the symbiant was that it was turning Spider Man into a monster. He was angry, screaming, going evil. Like when he was chasing Shocker through the bell tower, screaming that he was going to chase him to the ends of the earth, then rip him limb from limb.

Eddie Brock was blaming Spider Man for all of his problems. Making a fool out of him, getting him fired, thereby losing his apartment. The King Pin sent the Shocker to Brocks apartment to kill him because Brock had pictures proving that the Rhino broke into the shuttle to steal the Promethium X that John Jameson brought back from space. Spider Man was already in the apartment looking for the film when he heard the Shocker approach Brock on the doorstep outside. He ran out there and started fighting the Shocker, but Brock got in the way, also attacking Spider Man. IIRC, Spider Man webbed him up and hung him from a street light. The King Pin kidnapped John Jameson and made a bargain with Spider Man. He would return John in exchange for the Promethium X. Jay Jameson and Spider Man went to the bell tower for the exchange. Jay and John escaped, the King Pin got the Promethium X, but then the Shocker came out and attacked Spider Man again. They went at it, the Shocker started to run, going futher up the bell tower. Spider Man was enraged, chasing the Shocker up the tower. They started fighting again at the top, but Brock appeared again and tried to tackle Spider Man. Spider Man again webbed him up, hanging him from the top platform in the belltower, telling him that he would be dessert. He again engages the Shocker, overtakes him, and hangs him over the side of the tower. Spider Man hesitates, then starts to bring the Shocker back in, but then the symbiant reaches out and knocks the Shocker out of Spider Mans hands. Spider Man shoots off some web and saves the Shocker, but realizes how much he has changed and how dangerous the suit is. He tries to remove it, but it's too far bonded with him to do so. The bells in the belltower began to ring, the sonic waves hurt the suit which began to melt off of Peter. It struggled on the floor for a few seconds before collapsing into a puddle of goo and oozing through the floor. Peter, in his boxer shorts, runs home, unaware that it had oozed down to the hanging Eddie Brock, mutating him into Venom.

Yeah, it's a slow morning here.

Anyone notice that someone as rich as Harry Osborn was getting drunk off Maker's Mark. You would figure that he could at least afford something a little better.

It was horrible, unconvincing voice acting.

Anywho, to answer your question earthling, she was in shock and clearly didn't want to see Peter for a while. Then she called for him later and told him that she was proud of him for telling the truth and that she loved him.
