Star Trek: Enterprise was done in HD from the start.
Sure, but that only applies if for some reason you didn't block Enterprise from your memory.

I'm now ready to digest an alternate timeline, which I wasn't in 2009.
Sounds like it's gonna be in the J.J.-verse, which I'm a little iffy on but not surprised. Regardless, bring it on!
I love Star Trek, but I shudder to think about this. As has already been said - putting it on a streaming-only service that no one subscribes to already makes sure it will die. However, it also insures a low budget.

We also get to explore 'contemporary issues'.
I wonder if Jenner will make an appearance. You better believe we're going to have to deal with trans-gender aliens, over-zealous police.... fun times.

It's implied that it will air on CBS first, unless CBS is extraordinarily dumb. As for "contemporary issues", gender issues have been explored in every series of Trek, as have police states and governmental overreach. No need to get your panties in a twist if they discover hermaphroditic aliens.
Seems pretty clear that other than the pilot they are planning on this being a pay stream only show.
$5.99 per month
So it's a Star Trek show done by a guy with no experience in real Star Trek style on a subscription-based service nobody subscribes to?
Dead Show Walking!
Here's hoping it won't be done up like it's being filmed with a shaky smartphone. Stargate Universe comes to mind. Here's hoping it will be worth watching!
HAHAHAHAA!!!!!! Oh god that was so clever! They used "blast off" because it's a show about space! I get it!The new series will blast off with a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network.
Yeah. They only confirmed that one episode would ever actually air. I would hope that they use the response to that airing to decide if it should remain exclusive to the streaming service or not, but chances are that they want a good response to the broadcast with traditional audiences clamoring for more specifically to drive them to the streaming service.
Could not be successful enough for me to subscribe. I'd just buy the season on disc.
