Played an assassin in beta, but just to about level 16. Fun class. Seems to be the FOTM for launch tho.

I'm liking Sorcerer, but i'm not sure I want to go through the pain in the ass of being a healer at end game. Assassin seems to be the way to go(for now) though, as you said.

Question for you guys. I have a friend who is in the Air Force and is currently stationed in Japan. He wants to play SWTOR but is afraid if he orders the copy it will be in Japanese. When he goes to the store it is all in Japanese. My question is if I log into his Origin account from my computer and buy the digital download will it be an English version that he can then download and play?

I think he gets to pick the version, then again, you could always buy it for him in the US and just give him the login credentials just to play it safe. I don't know how EA operates Origin outside of the US/EU.

Bah. I waited a few minutes to take care of something and got hit with a queue already. Position 135 and only live for 20 minutes. Going to be a rough week I think with the queues.

I got in right at the get go, was one of 15 people on Taris, about 2 minutes later there were 80+ people in the same zone and 10 guild mates online
Haven't logged out since just in case and haven't had any crashes yet. Ran 3 Heroics though

I like to pretend my (very) dark side marauder has his way with Vette when I'm offline . She's asked me five times to remove her collar and I won't. It's interesting how much they try to make you feel bad with dark side decisions in this game. You really have to treat people like complete crap as if they were truly lesser beings.

Question here from someone new to MMOs. How necessary is a headset? Right now my plan is to pick up the game, play for two months, suspend playing once Mass Effect 3 comes out then get back into it if I like it. If I get back into it then I'll put down the money for a headset. Will I be fine playing without a headset until then?

The two factions, Republic and Empire, aren't light or dark side. They're just opposing factions. The characters you make can be either light or dark side for either faction.

If I were playing my marauder as a light side character I would have removed her shock collar immediately and not treated her like crap for 25 levels lol. It's also ok to play neutral as far as I know.

Pretty much as Beev said, the only thing that the light side and dark side points matter for the moment is some gear, and maybe how some of you class story plays out

So it does keep track, then? I'm thinking later on some high level gear might matter a lot. Even if it's in later expansions.

After you play through your storyline, is there a way to purify your side points, do you continue to have choices that affect it?

Speaking of being important to gear choices, is there any clickable effects on gear? I remember a nice clicky snare necklace that only Innoruuk followers could use.

A headset is necessary if you intend on using Teamspeak, Mumble, or Ventrilo to talk to other people playing the game. Otherwise, it isn't essential.

It does track yes, you start out as neutral 0 points, and then in dialog choices it will either give you 50 or 100 points to either light or dark. Each tier for either light or dark is 1000. So you could to 4 answers and get 400 dark and the 2 answers of light of 200 so you would be 200 points towards dark.

So far only from making the choices, at least from what I've seen in beta and Early Access

Not that I have seen personally. But it could be just the class I've played

You can change your alignment with Diplomacy. I imagine there has to be other ways too.
