I love love love love love people who get the epic 340 missions and then put them up on the auction house for 4320 credits, or better, they manually price it even lower.

Not only do I not know what that means, but I haven't used the ah cause it has such a sucky design interface.

i agree the galactic trade network search function is utter shit. but i think what he is saying is that people dont know the value of the things they are putting up so they put up stuff that has a much greater value for a really cheap price. and he loves (apparently, a lot ) that, cause he can get high value stuff for cheap.

It could be worse, if they allowed you to breakdown armor searches by slot and if they added a separate rarity category for custom (orange) items, I think it'd be fully functional, just not fluid. It does require too many clicks between searches and the 'reset' button is too close/similar to the search button though, but the text filter is quite effective if you know what you're looking for.

Also getting kicked out of it when your companion returns from a mission is a bother, but it can be avoided if you keep your inventory closed until you actually 'need' it.

Basically. I'm rich as shit off slicing (all of it post-nerf) and simply playing the missions market on the GTN.

When I was leveling up my armortech, it was funny - I was critting lowbie gear left and right with augment slots on it. I was putting up the level 9 belts and gloves for like 2000-3000 credits a pop... and they were selling quite readily.

the fact that you can't search by name is just fucking idiotic.

You can, you just have to search more broadly first, then you can filter the results by a name search. It certainly sucks, horribly, but it's possible...

The AH is where I make all my money! Could definitely have a better UI, but I'd be homeless without it.

Speaking of crafting and in preparation of my next char, where do they get their mats, even if I wasn't an artifice I think I would have still noticed the large quantity of crystals laying around. I've seen a couple of metal tins, but not seemingly enough for what you need and not of significance until several planets in.

Only had about 45 minutes online last night, wonder how many quest I have on that planet outside of the class line. Only explored about 50% of the map, and generally there aren't many new quest areas after you finish your class line.

Each planet has bonus missions. Typically your class quests get you through all the normal missions. The bonus missions aren't available till you've completed a lot of the planet, and you have to be a certain level of course. The bonus missions are always significantly higher level than the rest of the planet, and are usually very heavy with elite 2, 4, 4+ quests.

Treasure hunting missions sell very, very well. A 340 epic can go for 25k+ credits. 300 epics can go for 10k+. Investigation? Not so much. The AH is so overflooded with them a 340 will barely go for 3k and that is pressing it. I have managed to find some treasure hunting missions for cheap though. I certainly have not been low on cash in this game yet due to slicing.

Well i found the PTR patch notes on google and I have to say that I am really upset. They completely ignored fixing and of the bugs on the smuggler class. Most annoying of all being the cover bug and the animation completing on a attack and no dam being dealt. Its fricking rediculous in pvp. Oh and the change to Illum is going to suck since Empire out number us 50s on our server by like 10 to 1. Forget doing the dailys there anymore. Saves me time to go lvl an alt that isnt broken.

Yeah, I know. But when I'm trying to search for a specific thing having to use the drop down menus makes me extra grrrrr.

That said, thanks to waffle I just picked up about 12 340 epic missions (underground, bio and something else) for max 1.5k each. Some were like 700 creds. See if I can't flip em for more.

Looks like a bunch of info here: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/01/12/swtor-updates-lots-of-juicy-info/#more-88598

I can't read it all though since RPS is blocked at work.

KT

Was just reading it, basically:

Ah screw it, copy/paste:

Next week’s update for Star Wars: The Old Republic is to be called Rise Of The Rakghouls, and plans to add some major new content to the game, focusing on story-heavy features. Senior Creative Director James Ohlen explained to us in an interview we’re posting very soon that along with “a lot of bug fixes and modifications”, there would be the titular new story-focused flashpoint, as well as expanding Karagga’s Palace to have five times as many bosses (five). And this is just the first of many updates they’re already working on. March promises a new planet, warzone, operation, guild banks… And then there’s the updates they’re already working on for next year. You can see the accompanying trailer below.

According to Ohlen, the entire SWTOR team is still working flat-out on content for the released game. Next week’s update is just one of many they’re currently working on, with another much larger patch planned for March. It will contain part two of Rise Of The Rakghouls, and an entire new planet containing an operation and warzone, as well as “the second half of the Legacy System, which is the real meat of it.”

March will also see the game update with guild banks and PVP ranking systems, and Ohlen promises another sweep of bug fixes and tweaks.

And they’re already working on updates we won’t see until next year, with the story written out. Ohlen didn’t want to reveal how many are currently planned, but he let slip they’re already working on the fifth. The voiceover work is already being recorded for next year’s content.

There are also plans for something called the Event System, for which details are not yet forthcoming. However, we did manage to prise out of Ohlen that it may include something relating to Warhammer’s social quests – where you unofficially group with whoever is around at the time to complete a non-instanced task – something that we were surprised didn’t feature in the game at launch.

As for whether SWTOR means we’ll never see another single player KOTOR game, Ohlen was tight-lipped. For now, he said, the entire Austin team is only focusing on SWTOR. But he did hint that after six years on the project, there’s a chance he’ll be wanting to do something new soon.

For a game that borrows a lot from WoW, it really is lacking a lot of polish. A few gripes that I truly hope they fix soon.

-How about letting more than two windows up at the same time. For example, I'm browsing the already shitty designed auction house, and my "mission complete" window pops up from my companion, and it closes the AH window down. WTF.

-Shift clicking a name of a person in chat to find out their class/level does not work, or am I doing it wrong? It's next to impossible to quickly find out a person's class or level when they whisper you if they can join your group. /who is utter shit.

-Quests that you can't delete. I have quests that are grey from previous planets that I CANNOT delete.

-Quest giver indicator icon above their heads do not tell you what level the quests are. You have to pick up the quest, to realize it's grey.

I've never had a problem abandoning a quest. :hmm:

I thought the little icon above their head looks faded if it's a grey quest? Maybe I am thinking of something else?

The window thing is dumb, I have windows closed on me all the time.

That would be me, quick sale!

All though I haven't made it to the auction house, just use the galactic market which seems pretty low volume. I hate that stuff expires after being listed for 2 days and you have to make it back to the market to relist.

Edit: thanks for pasting that info above; interesting stuff. Hope it turns out as good as it sounds.

The faded out quests mean they're either too high level for you or they're daily quests that have not reset for you yet.
