Well now that's it F2P, I can play!

I had played SWTOR during the stress test portion of the beta. It got me to realize that the game didn't offer what I wanted if I was to pay $15/mo for a sub. More of the same MMO grind with a heavier emphasis on story. Plenty of other RPGs to play that are one time costs and offer a better gameplay experience. But now I can play and enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Maybe they'll even get me to pay a few bucks to unlock a couple additional features.

I am very sad this game went F2P and is in the state it is now. I very much enjoyed it when I played, never made it to end game, got busy and had to cancel. I always wanted to come back and continue because I love Star Wars and the world BioWare created was interesting enough.

Maybe I will give the game another free chance now since I have a legacy account or whatever.

currently, I get broken links for all images and no text displayed.

I assume the class forums are in there somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find them; I'm just trying to get spec/rotation suggestions for my Mercenary, who I've forgotten how to play.

I re-upped for a month for the ~1500 credits, but all my market place purchases are also error'ing out. rofl

edit: disabling AdBlock on Chrome fixed the forums.

Additional quickbars are 250 coins (each, I think).

Unlocking "artifact" quality gear cost a pretty penny. I forget exactly how much, but that will likely be a must if you want to use your purple stuff.

Then it all depends on what else you want. I assume at some point they'll fix the character lock so you'll actually have to unlock additional characters beyond the limit of 2 (right now it seemed I could log into any of my 11 characters without any restriction).

Keep in mind, it also seems that if you have a security token on your account, you get a free 100 credits PER MONTH as well. Regardless of if you subscribe or not.

There's a limit as to how many warzones you can do a week (I think 5) and I don't think you can do ANY space missions. You can BUY a pass (weekly?) to lift those restrictions.

Oh cool... so according to Ars, there is no lockout on characters yet (aside from creation of new chars). That will be introduced in a later patch.

Space missions were one of the only ways to get high end crafting materials at one point. This, for F2P, is moot given the crafting restrictions.

when was that? I played from April-August, and the only real way to get high-end crafting mats was from crew missions (or buy off of TP). Space Missions only gave you piddly amounts of xp and credits, and some tokens to get certain cosmetic armor sets.

I think one of them gave you some daily tokens.

I think there was one particular top tier material that was pretty much only "easily" attainable using fleet commendations. I forget what it was. This was around July/August before I stopped playing. You could get it other ways, but it was very random. Using fleet comms pretty much guaranteed you'd get it.

This has to be one of the better looking free to play games out there. Curious if anyone is actually keeping their sub? I am tempted to play a bit just to see if it has improved. But the angry nerd rage on their forums kinda scares me

You have to be a CURRENT SUBSCRIBER this month in order to get the retroactive rewards.

Hence the suggestion, subscribe for one month and cancel to get your past due + 500 coins.

Which is stupid. They are basically punishing players who want to come back. I got an email for the 1000 for the collectors edition but I haven't subbed in 4 or 5 months.
